Jack listened to the rain as it poured and felt nostalgic as he was surrounded by white waves. The rain picked up more speed and Jack could no longer see. The white lines spun back and fourth in his vision and overlapped so quickly that all was white. The nostalgic like feeling deepened and pulled out memories from his past. Jack though about these sad events from before and grew hollow with loneliness.
He was alone then to, when the world was nothing but blinding white and fear raced through his veins. The sound of fires surrounded him and he was made of searing pain and fear. Fires, they roared and made everything white. Tall standing objects leaned over and fell, produced a more blinding sight. Besides these sounds there was a deafening silence only utterly stunned emotions could make. Something smelled of burning flesh and of smoke and something else Jack could not explain. The last smell was overpowering compared to the rest of the scents in the air and he choked and nearly stopped breathing because of it. It was snatching all the air from his lungs and replacing it with chemicals that should have killed him.
Jack was in such intense pain that he did not realize what really had happened. That he had been tossed around like a bag in the wind and now lay on a pile of rubble that was once a building. Such a powerful chaos and panic had overtaken him that he could not move.
After some time of laying there, surrounded by unimaginable pain and fear, Jack heard voices approaching. The sound was distorted and just underneath the screaming of the fire but he knew someone was coming. He could not move and waited for them to go away, but instead they helped him. Feeling skin touch his skin freaked him out enough to to break the blind, at the time, man out of his shock and wake him up. Shaking at every touch they helped him to his feet.
Years later Jack learned that those people who helped him had not cared about his showing teeth or his lack of eyes. If he had been able to see, he would have seen these people in the same position as he. They even had as dark of skin as he because of chemical burns and fire burns, because of ash and blood so thick it was black. Jack was a doctor there, a secret doctor but a doctor non the less, and the people who knew this begged him for help. Even though he could not see and his face was clear as day for people to see, they still went to him for help. But he always sent them away unable to even help himself. Instead he chose to sit in the ruins that was once a great town in Japan and cried.
Shaking his head and shaking away the terrifying memory Jack quickly picked up his book and began to read. Opening it to his chapter Jack closed his eyes behind the blue mask and ran his fingers over the pages, reading the braille that stuck out enough for him to feel the words. As it grew late into the night the rain calmed but Jack didn't notice. He was to caught up in the story to even notice that somebody was knocking on his door.
The door swung open and banged against the wall, startling Jack and sending him to his feet.
"What the hell Jack, I'm soaking!" Hoodie joked and stepped in, carrying a body over his shoulder. Jack shook his head and smiled behind his mask, all to relieved and delighted to have his friend back.
"Hoodie," he said and walked over. Taking the body and setting it on the floor Jack and Hoodie hugged, the cannibal didn't mind that Hoodie was indeed soaking as they hugged for a moment.
"Let me getting you something dry to wear," Jack said in his low voice, stepping back and examining his now wet sweatshirt.
Hoodie laughed. "A shower would also be great to if that's not to much of a problem."
"No problem at all, come in."
Leading his friend through the small house, Jack took Hoodie in and left of the kitchen. Walking down a short hallway there were four doors. Two of them were for sleeping, the other for the basement and one for the bathroom. Hoodie already knew the set up and how things worked so he took off his backpack and went straight to the bathroom.
