After waiting for somewhat an hour, I was called into the Deputy's Office. Before walking into the room, I catch a glimpse of the boy staring in my direction. "What brings you here?" Spoke the Deputy.
"Oh..uhh..I'm starting school here. I am enrolling at Hannington High." I nervously spoke. "Great." She said with no enthusiasm. "Name?"
"Scarlett Clarke."
"Address?"
"38 waterson rd." She paused at the name. "W-what's wrong?" I worried. She turned and looked at me as if something was wrong before flicking on a smile. "Nothing darling. Uh... What year are you going into to?"
"10." She made the same face again.
"I just need you to sign these sheets and you're all good to go."
"Thanks." I gave her another look before leaving the room.
I walked out of the school and called mum.
"I'm out the front of the school, can you come and pick me up?"
"Did you get suspended already?" It's true. The only reason I keep moving schools is because, I get suspended and suspended and then soon expelled. That's one of the reasons I skip the 'meet new people' part of moving schools.
*Beep* *Beep*
I heard mums car pull up next to me. "Hey."
"Hi. We have to fill out theses forms to go to school."
"Ok..what do we have here..." She slipped on her reading glasses and scanned the sheet of paper. "Uh huh...yes..mm.." She kept muttering little noises before handing back the sheet. Turning the key, she starts the engine and turns out of the spot she had pulled into. I grab a pen and a book to lean on. "So, what would I write for fathers name?" My dad left us when I was around 5. I stared at the words. Fathers Name... "Um..just skip it. And when you hand it in, if they ask about it, just tell them why."
"Ok.." I skipped the question and went onto the next question.
While we were in the middle of the dark forest which led to our home, the car started to moan and chug. "Mum. W-what's happening." I started to panic.
"Umm....oh damn."
"What?"
"We've just run out of gas." I turned and stared out the window and into the dark forest. Before turning away, I just catch a glimpse of the boy in the deputy's.
