I sat in the middle of no where, deep in the dark forest, crying my eyes out. I'm lost. I'm cold. I have no idea where my mother and worst of all, i have no one to call. No one to talk to. I'm alone. All alone. While I was sitting, huddled up in a ball. A twig snapped. I gasped, my head springing up. "Is anyone there?" I called. No answer. "Hello?" I stood up, brushing dirt off my jeans. Bushes rustled from behind me. I spun around at the noise. "Is anyone there?" I repeated. Again, no answer. While I was staring in the direction the noise came from, something jumped out at me. Screaming, I turned and ran as fast as I could.

I hurdled logs, ducked under trees and tripped over roots that were poking out of the ground trying to get away from whatever was chasing me. I hadn't had a chance to look back, just in case a branch came out of no where and knocked me out, then the thing that was chasing me could eat me while I was unconscious. Stop thinking about that. I can't afford to drift off into obliviousness.

While I was running, I tripped over a root and fell to the ground. I slightly hit my head on the hard dirt. I was on the ground moaning after I realised it wasn't chasing me anymore. My foot was aching. The sound of my own breathing was the only sound in this eerie forest. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that someone was watching me. I just lay there in pain, crying, until I fell asleep.

I woke a couple of hours later. *Crunch* Someone stepped on a branch, waking me up fully. But the sounded more like human steps, not creature steps. I wonder what was chasing me last night. Or was I dreaming. I don't think I was dreaming, because I woke in the same place I tripped over. Another branch snapped. "Hello? Is anyone there?" No answer. I tried standing up, pain shot through me like a bullet leaving the gun. Yet another twig snapped. "If anyone is out there, please help me! I tripped over, and I think I sprained something. My ankle or my foot I don't know, but I am in pain, a lot of pain." Still no one answered, so I sat down and took my boot off. My ankle was swollen. I didn't know where I was, what time it was. I needed help back to my house, or at least to the shops so I could get something done with my foot.

After a while later, still hearing occasional twigs snapping, someone decided to show themselves. A dark, musculined figure. When he lifted his face, it was Toby. "Have you been watching me?"

"No, but someone else has. My sister. She doesn't like you that much. She watched you sleep last night too. I was up in the trees."

"She watched me? Why didn't she help when I called. Something was chasing me last night, I tripped over and I have done something to my anke. I can hardly walk. What were you doing in the trees?" I looked up at the very high trees, which didnt have any branches until well above my head. "How did you even get up there?" I wondered out loud.

"I was making sure, she didn't hurt you. Like I said, she doesn't like the new girl at our school." The new girl? Is that how everyone see's me? "Not everyone see's you as the new girl, Scarlett."

"I-i didn't say anything. H-how did you know I thought that though?" He started to look worried and started looking around. "I uhh..gotta go.." He started to turn.

"Wait!" He stopped and turned. "How do I get back home?"

He pointed across from me. "Roads that way." I nodded and turned towards where he was pointing. He turned back and started walking away. I stopped and walked in the direction he was going, but before I could see where he was going, he was gone. "What?" He just left then, he coudn't be gone. So I decided to leave and go home.
