Blythe's P.O.V.
We go to the café for Lillith's memorial service. Dawn closed it down for us to use. Picture's of her hang everywhere, along with all of her crafts and clothes she's handmade. I decided to wear the dress she designed for my first music video. The song was a cover of Evanescence's Hello, a dedication to my mother after her death. I felt it fitting to wear now. It has a high/low length with a lacy black skirt with satin ruffle trim. The bodice had a small cut out below the collar and it had my favorite little cap sleeves that I've always loved on dresses. Hazel hasn't stopped crying. She started sleeping in Lillith's room, I guess it's her way of feeling closer to her. My grandmother kept Cadence. I knew I wouldn't be strong enough to bring her. She loved Lillith, after all, Cadence was Lillith's goddaughter. Devin is just...poor thing...he's lost right now. None of us has left his side.
Dawn had a stage built and there was a piano sitting there. Only Dawn and I had a key to it so a little kid wouldn't come up and pound on the keys and break it. I know it's not very likely, but it's a good precaution. Chris comes up to the stage. We spent the night before after Cadence had gone to bed planning a set for Lillith's memorial service. We decided to start with an acoutsic version of "Reincarnate" since it was her favorite song. I made a piano part to it and Ricky is playing guitar. Then I'm singing the Hello cover and a cover of "Gone too Soon" by Simple Plan and I organized parts for another Evanescence song called "Listen to the Rain" for our whole group to sing.
Everyone in the cafe turned towards the stage. Chris turned on the microphone, "For those who don't know me I am Blythe's husband Chris. I knew Lillith for four years and she was one of the most amazing people ever. She was an amazing friend to anyone who knew her. With how many people there are in this room, I think it's clear to see that I am far from wrong. It is not an understatement to say how much of a tragedy her far to soon death was. Her best friend, Blythe, has organized a small set in her honor." He pulls me up onto the stage. We play through "Reincarnate" and Ricky and Ryan walk off of the stage.
He hands me the microphone, "Thank you Chris." I speak through my tears. "Braxton, Hazel, Levi, and Devin, I need you up here for one of our songs." I sit at the piano once again and begin playing the intro to "Listen to the Rain". Once we're finished, everyone leaves me alone on stage and I bring Devin up to start "Gone too Soon".
Blythe:
Hey there now
Where'd you go
You left me so unexpected
You changed
I hope you know
cause now I'm lost
So unprotectedDevin:
In a blink of an eye
I never got to say goodbyeBoth:
Like a shooting star
Flyin' across the
So fast so far
You were gone too soon
You're part of me
And I'll never be
The same here without you
You were gone too soonBlythe:
You were always there
and like shining light
on my darkest days
you were there to guide me
Oh I miss you now
I wish you could see
Just how much memory
Will always mean to meDevin
In a blink of an eye
I never got to say goodbyeBoth:
Like a shooting star
Flyin' across the room
So fast so far
You were gone too soon
You're part of me
And I'll never be
The same here without you
You were gone too soonDevin:

To a better place
Shine on! Shine on!
Will never be the sameBoth:
Like a shooting star
Flyin' across the room
