Climate Change: Fact or Fiction?

It's difficult to find anyone that hasn't heard about the impending disaster of global warming and climate change. But, does anybody really understand what they mean?

In this short book I attempt to demystify the issues that cloud this important socio-political hot potato. I strip it down to the bare-naked facts so that it's easy to understand it.

I do it in a dialogue between two well-educated, conscientious persons who are looking at the issues from their different perspectives. One is convinced that global warming is the most pressing global issue, and disaster looms; the other is equally convinced that it's more a hoax than reality, and that instead of the predicted disastrous global warming we could be facing the next ice age.

Can both be right?

Both are possible scenarios. Indeed, until all the hype about global warming and climate change, respectable scientists were talking about the impending global cooling: the onset of the next ice age.

Froid is an engineering physicist, who after working for government for many years, switched to a private company involved in solving environmental problems. Although her work has nothing to do with climate change, she is well versed in the jargon of the scientists that do climate modelling.

Chaud, on the other hand, has a business degree, and works for a firm that finances green-energy projects, such as wind turbines and photovoltaic electrical generators. He is convinced that his work is the answer to the impending global warming Armageddon because they help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The two of them have been good neighbours for years and each morning they jog together before heading out to work. Their discussions take place over many days during their morning jog . Each day they focus on a different aspect of the debate.

If you're baffled about all the commotion, the claims and counterclaims of the global warmers and their opponents, join me in this journey of demystification. I don't pretend to have all the answers, and quite clearly, no one has; but I promise to give you both sides of the debate so that you have a better appreciation of the underlying fundamentals.
