"Do I get to keep it?" I asked the child services lady, who had a tiny--it almost looked like a newborn--baby in a carrier. It's cheeks were rosy and it had some tufts of blonde hair.

"There is no other family member who could take her in." True, there was no one in my family who could taker her in. "If you don't adopt her, she will be sent into foster care and then into an orphanage."

I shook my head, "No we sure can't have that. Where do I sign?" The lady took out a bunch of papers from a manilla folder and had me sign various papers. I honestly didn't pay attention to what I signing. I just didn't want to part with the little bundle of joy at my feet.

I mean, she is my niece after all. You don't leave family behind for any reason.

"Okay, Mr. Horan. You are now the proud guardian of Olive Horan. Please take good care of her. We will send you an email to schedule her first routine check up a few months from now." She picked up the little carrier and handed it to me. "We wish you the best of luck."

"I wish myself the best of luck too..." I mumbled to myself.

After picking up my niece, I had to attend a meeting with my band mates at our managers office. Before I went to the meeting I stopped by Walmart to pick up baby formula, bottles and the necessities I would need to keep her alive. The entire taxi ride and the hour we spent in walmart, she was asleep.

Thank god she slept so long, her waking up and fussing is the last thing I would need today.

We walked out of Walmart, and took a cab to my flat here in Los Angeles. While inside my flat, little Olive woke up, and I panicked a bit. Big green eyes stared back at me with the same amount of curiosity I had. She started making these grunting noise and I figured she was probably hungry so i started warming up her formula. You know, like a good dad, right?

And then it happened. She started crying, and not the cute kind of crying. She was full blown wailing.

"Sh, sh, princess," I took her out of her carrier and rested her on should and patted her back softly. A strong stench was slowly making its way out of her nappy.

"Wooh!" I pushed her away from me instantly, "No wonder you're cranky! Having your poop that close to your bottom probably doesn't feel too nice." I cooed as I set her down on my kitchen island. I pulled out a clean nappy and wipes from the Wal-mart bag.

"Alright...so first you take the nappy off ...then you put a new one on...then you wipe? Wait.. that doesn't sound right..." After an eternity of hits and miss, I finally changed her diaper.

"You're as good as new, Princess." I let her rest against my shoulder while I put her formula into a bottle and packed everything into her bag. "We are finally ready to go princess, are you excited to go to a meeting?" I cooed. Olive gave me look that, if she could talk, would probably say, 'Creepo.'

I put her in a stroller and we took the elevator down to the first floor. We exited our apartment and hitched another cab to take us to our manager's office. Olive was an extremely well behaved girl for a kind of newborn. She hadn't cried much since I got her earlier in the morning. I hope it continues on like this for a while.

The cab stopped up front of the office building I pulled out a twenty and handed it to the cab driver. I unloaded Olive, her stroller, and her bag.

The boys were already waiting outside in broad daylight for us. They were giving us weird looks. Did I forget to mention to them that I had adopted my niece? Whoops, I think I did. I think I forgot to tell management too. Darn. This Irish brain of mine isn't as sharp as it used to be.

"Niall, why do you have a baby? I thought you didn't have a girlfriend?" Liam asked me. "Have you even feed the poor thing, these creatures have to be fed and changed every few hours."

"I actually just fed and changed her. She's just a little sleep 'is all. She takes after my side of the family." I smiled.

"Whoa, dude! So she is your daughter?" Louis asked me. I shook my head.

"No, my brother and his wife passed in a car crash, and I'm the only family this girl has now." I said while pick up Olive. "I'm not complaining though, this girl is the cutest." I planted a small kiss on her cheek.

"Sorry for your loss, Niall." Liam said, placing a comforting arm around my shoulder. "They are in a better place."

"I understand, but I think we will all be alright. I have a beautiful daughter now and I couldn't be happier now...at least it gets out that I'm fathering a little munchkin."

Louis reached out and caressed her cheek, "What's her name again?"

"Olive." I mumbled, admiring Olive's funny facial expressions.

"Hey Olive, I'm uncle Lou, and this is uncle Harry," Lou pulled Harry in closer to look at Olive. "She's a keeper, can't wait to see how you're going to keep all the boys off of her." I rolled my eyes, I wasn't sure how I was going to keep her safe forever. What about when we go on tour? I can't bring her everywhere with me.

"Ahem." Our manager, Simon stared back at us while everyone huddled around me, admiring the child in my arms. "Who's child is that?" He asked. The boys in front of me parted to let Simon come see Olive. He took one good look at her and then looked at me with those beady eyes of his. "I'm assuming that's your niece?"

"Yes sir," I nodded quickly. "I'm her guardian now." Simon stared at us a bit more and then nodded once again.

"We will have to arrange for someone to take care when you guys go on tour in two months."

"We are going on tour, again?" I asked. We had just ended our tour a few days ago, and now we are scheduled to go back on tour once again? Simon nodded.

"The demand for One Direction to go on tour again is at a peak."

We didn't bother to complain. we'd been on tour constantly for almost a year. I guess another year  couldn't hurt.

After our long boring meeting regarding finances and other stuff. We were free to go home. Olive held up quite nicely at our meeting. She sleep for the majority and only woke up once to feed and then she went straight to bed.

At our loft, I set Olive down in a little baby swing I'd bought her earlier today. "What would you like to eat today, Princess?" I called. I obviously didn't get a response, I couldn't wait for her to start walking a talking and eating solids too! I'd have a lot of fun cooking dishes for two. I warmed up some more formula and fed her while we watched a movie together.

Do babies have a bed time? I think so...I changed her nappy after she ate and set her down in a her cot.

"Good night Princess, can't wait to see where we go tomorrow."

Let's just leave it at that that same night I didn't get much sleep. Olive would wake up every few hours to feed and then she would get gassy so I had to gas her. She pooped a lot too! Nobody told me having a baby would be this much work.

Screw it!

I'm moving in with Liam and Louis tomorrow.
