Waking up to the commotion of passengers getting of the plane, I moaned and stood up. I'm an awful morning person, so waking up is not the best for me. It was already 3:15 in the afternoon and as I stepped into the packed airport I stood tiptoed with my neck craned. I spotted my grandparents, who I had only met once because my mom got in a fight with them.

They were the only family I had who would take me in. I walked over shaking with nerves and waved hello. They pulled me into a hug and led me to the parking garage. We drove home in an awkward silence, with an occasional question about school and my friends, but nothing more than that. I could tell this was going to be harder than I thought.

I just finished my Junior year of high-school. I didn't have many friends and I had a hard time fitting in because all the girls back at my school in Cali are really fake and catty. I can only imagine the horror of starting my new school next week.

I'm average. I'm 5'6 and curvy. I have blue eyes and brown hair with natural blond highlights. Nothing special. I'm very insecure about myself because I have thighs the size of Australia, my hips carry a bit more weight, and my skin isn't very clear. I always get teased by the girls at my school because I'm very casual and nonchalant and I'm always hanging out with boys. My bestfriends were Sam Potorff and Kian Lawley. I was in love with Kian, but I knew he didn't feel the same because he was going out with a girl named Erica. What else would I expect? She's perfect. I'm just a laid back chick who longboards, draws, sings and plays guitar. I don't dress up and cake makeup on my face. I'm perfectly fine with vans, skinny jeans, a t-shirt, and an occasional beanie.

I jumped at the voice of my Grandmother telling me we had got home. We were parked in front of the biggest house I'd ever seen. I carried my bags up the walkway and waited for someone to lead me in. We entered the hallway mud room and my grandfather led me up the stairs. He walked two doors down and stopped in front of the third door. He gestured for me to the open the door.

I glanced in and he mumbled "I hope you like it. We're gonna be downstairs watching T.V if you need us." I just nodded my head in pure shock.

There was a huge bed and a desk with an iMac. A humongous T.V hung on the wall accompanied by a bluray DVD player. Shelves lined the walls and there were two doors to the left of the television. One led to a walk in closet and the other led to a bathroom. Walking back to my bed I plopped down on it sighing.

I decided to grab my longboard and looked up the closest Starbucks on my iPhone. It was only 4 blocks away and I was thirsty.

I walked down the stairs to the hall that led to the living room. My grandparents were watching the Home and Garden channel. I opened my mouth and shut it, taking a moment to decide what to say. Before I got the chance to speak up, my grandmother turned around and said,"What is it Alex?" I smiled sweetly and replied, "I was just gonna let you know I was heading to a close by Starbucks on my longboard." She slowly got off the couch and walked past me to a desk in the next room over. I turned away facing the T.V. She slipped a credit card into my hand and whispered "You might need this. Have fun!" I nodded and thanked her. She pulled me to the door and said "Enjoy the wonderful state of Texas!"
