"Erm. I'm sorry. I couldn't stop in time." He said shyly and clearly embarrassed. My eyes were unfocused and blurry. I could tell he was blushing though. Awh. He's fairly cute.
"Nah it's alright." I chuckled. He realized he was still on top of me and turned an even darker shade of red. He stood up and gave me a hand up too.
Looking up and down at me he said, "What happened to you?" I forgot I wasn't wearing anything but an unzipped coat. I dropped my head and looked at my exposed tummy. My stomach had deep purple bruises in the shape of finger prints as well as on my hips. I couldn't just tell him what happened. "Uhm nothing." I replied meekly. I tightened my grasp on the jacket.
The boy just stared at me and then said "Wait are you Alex Carrey?" How does this guy know me? I don't know who he is. He doesn't look too familiar either. Whatever. "Um, yes actually." I said looking at my bare feet.
"My name is Jc. I live down your street and clean your grandparents pool every week. They are really worried about you. There's signs all around town that say "Missing: Alex Carrey" and they sent people to search for you." he explained. Wow. People really missed me that much?
"Would you mind leading me back to my house? I don't know how to get to it from here." I asked shyly. He nodded and said, "Sure, it'll take about 15 minutes. Do you want me to carry you? You like tired." He asked. I was tired so I didn't argue. I nodded my head and mumbled a quiet thanks.
After about 10 minutes, I could feel Jc getting tired of walking while carrying me and his penny board so I asked him to put me down. I trudged behind him, trying hard not to fall asleep. Then finally, after what seemed like hours, we stopped in front of my house.
I knocked on the door and my grandmother answered the door. She pulled me into a tight bear hug. My ribs ached and I yelped in pain. She immediately let go and looked at my body. Without questioning what happened she just shuffled into the house saying something about taking me to the hospital.
She came back outside with car keys and Jc supported me while I walked behind her to the car. She thanked him and he just nodded waving goodbye. After a few minutes of driving, I got used to the feeling of the road moving underneath us and I blacked out.
