Chapter 6

"Where are we going anyway?" Emily asked her friend, "It's just a little store right over there." Amber said, they were right beside a cross walk Amber pushed the button and the two girls waited.

Once they could go they started walking across the street, when they came to the other end Emily followed Amber to a small shop that looked pretty old Emily didn't catch the name but it had old english lettering which she couldn't make out because of the rotting lettering. The two girls walked in and looked around, it was old and had books, dolls, bottles of some sort of liquid and jewlery on shelves, the desk was pretty messy.

"Hello?" Amber called out and a girl poked her head out from behind the desk, she stood up from her crouching position, she held two books in her arms which she put down on the desk and walked around it to where Emily and Amber were standing. She pushed her glasses up a little.

"How can I help you both?" She asked and Emily read her name tag, Annika was her name, "Well, we were wondering if you had some sort of spell for love." Amber said and Annika smiled, she led the girls over to a shelf with books, bottles and jewellery.

"These would be all of the love section." Annika said and walked off somewhere, Amber and Emily looked at the shelf pull of books and then Emily caught sight of the jewellery.

"Look at this." Emily said walking over to the necklaces, she had her eyes on a specific one though, it was silver circled and held an ocean blue jem in the middle.

"Wow.. I will go ask about this." Amber said walking off as Emily reached her hand slowly to touch the amulet, "Are you finding things ok?" An older woman said jerking Emily away from the amulet, she turned to the woman, she was older than the young girl that they had seen.

"Ugh.. yes, just looking." Emily said rubbing the back of her neck, "Would you like to know more about this amulet?" The woman asked and Emily nodded smiling.

"Well, it is a very old amulet and it makes that special person fall in love with you." The woman started when Amber and Annika came around the corner, "And it's very powerful." Annika said grabbing the amulet away from everyone.

"Annika, let the girls look at it." The older woman said and Annika looked at her, "Grandma, this is way too dangerous they don't know how to use it." Annika started and the older woman gave her a look and Annika sighed then put it down on the shelf.

"Now, where was I? Oh, well this is very powerful yes, but if you are really wanting that special person to fall in love with you then wear it all the time. The amulet will make them want to know more about you, be with you more." The old woman said, this all interested Emily.

"We will take it!" Amber announced quickly before the old woman could continue, Emily held the amulet firmly in her hand, Annika sighed and shuffled to the desk and rung it into the cash registrar.

"Twenty-nine dollars." Annika said and Emily handed her the money, she and Amber turned to walk out when Annika grabbed her arm and Emily's head turned to look at her.

"Beware it's power." Annika said, fear in her green eyes Emily just nodded and pulled herself out of Annika's grasp. Emily walked out of the shop and caught up to Amber.

"That was weird." Amber said and Emily nodded and looked at her new find, she smiled and put the amulet in her pocket so she wouldn't loose it.

Emily and Amber came to the cross walk and pushed the button again, they stood there waiting until it was time to walk. Emily was lost in her thoughts the entire walk, she thought about what Ryder would do once he saw her with the amulet on and she smiled knowing that Ryder would be all hers and just hers, Scarlet has her own boyfriend who deserves better especially with the way Scarlet treats him.
