Chapter 9

"Adrian!" Emily shouted running down the hallway to where Adrian was standing at his locker getting his things out, "Can I help you?" He asked no emotion in his voice, Emily stared at him for a second then remembered what she had come to ask.

"I was wondering if you'd.. like to go see a movie?" She asked seeing Ryder and Scarlet walk down the hall talking, anger rising in her and it felt like a spark went through her body. Ryder stopped.

"Ryder are you ok?" Scarlet asked looking back at Ryder who had turned around, his eyes stared at Emily and he walked towards her as if in a trance kind of state.

"Can I help you Ryder?" Emily asked and Ryder shook his head and looked at her, "Ugh yeah.. can we talk Emily?" Ryder asked and Emily shifted her eyes from Ryder back to Adrian.

"No Ryder, anyway, what do you say about the movies Adrian?" Emily asked, her plan was going into great action because now, Ryder was staring at Adrian waiting for an answer.

"I don't think I should, I will see you later Emily." Adrian said, he walked off leaving Emily stand there thinking.. what did she do?

"Now can we talk, Emily?" Ryder asked and Emily sighed then nodded, the two walked down the hallway in silence for a bit.

"Do you like that weirdo?" Ryder asked and Emily looked at him, she couldn't express the anger she felt when he said that, "What's it to you?" She spat

"Well, your my girlfriend you shouldn't like other guys." He said and Emily rolled her eyes at him, "If I'm your 'girlfriend' as you say why did you cheat on me with Scarlet?" She asked and Ryder couldn't reply.

"I thought so." She said and walked to her class, as she did so she thought, why was she so mad? It was like the necklace was making her angry and every time she got angry.. She had a certain power run through her and some other crazy powers happen.

She felt her phone buzz and took it out quickly to check but still kept it hidden from the teacher, 'Come to the library ASAP.' It was Adrian, Emily put her phone away and raised her hand.

"Yes Emily?" The teacher asked, "I need to go to the bathroom." Emily said and got up from her seat leaving the classroom then down the hallway, what did Adrian want? Well, whatever he wanted she was going to find out. Emily ran out of the school and down the street to the library, once she was there she walked in and looked around.

"Emily." She head Adrian and walked over to the table he was at, "I got you a coffee." He said giving her a coffee, she sat down and stared at him, "Thanks.. Why did you want me to come here?" She asked and Adrian quickly took out a book from his bag and opened it to page thirty-three.

"You know that necklace that's on your neck?" He asked and Emily looked down at her neck then up and Adrian and nodded, "Take a look at this." He said giving her the book and she read it. She read that the necklace is very rare and causes the wearer to attract attention from people and everytime the wearer wears the necklace the more attention they grab and the more they become meaner and greedy.

"How long have you had it on your neck?" He asked her and she looked up at him shrugging her shoulders, "Awhile but.. It won't come off." She said and Adrian's eyes went wide.

"It's claimed you as it's own." He said and Emily looked at him weird, "It's own? What are you talking about?" She asked

"What I'm talking about is that the necklace your wearing is alive and it owns you." He said slowly and Emily's eyes widened, "What; how?" She asked frantically.

"Nevermind, we need to find out how to get rid of it and soon." Adrian said and Emily nodded.

Both Emily and Adrian sat at the library thinking of ways to be the necklace off but to no luck, Emily sighed in frustration, "Adrian, I can't think of anything!" Emily was starting to become angry.
