Chapter 3- Caught

Kaneki mostly slept soundly, but awoke from a bad dream late in the night.

He turned his head slightly to be able to read his clock. The digital numbers read out '2:27.'

He groaned slightly and threw his legs over the side of the bed. His white locks formed a messy style, which was way to similar to Hide's. He pushed it down in an attempt of taming it, but to no avail.

His stomach grumbles lowly, signaling he was hungry.

"Come on! I just ate." he whispered to himself.

He quietly tip-toed into the kitchen so he would not wake any one else up in the surrounding apartments, completely forgetting that Hide had spent the night.

Once he had reached the kitchen, he opened his fridge and reached towards the very back for a packet. He quickly ate it, cringing at the sound of ripping flesh. He threw the empty packet away and sighed. He was startled when he heard a loud rustling coming from his living room. That was when he remembered that Hide was here.

"Shit." he whispered.

"Kaneki? That you?" Hide asked.

"Yeah, it's me. I just got kinda hungry so I got up for some food."

"Oh, ok. Hey, while your in there can you grab me some chips?"

"Yeah. They might be a bit stale though. I haven't really been eating them a lot."

"That's fine."

Kaneki grabbed a bag of Doritos, knowing they were Hide's favorite and walked out into the living room.

"Here ya go." Kaneki dropped the bag near Hide's dark figure and turned to head back to his room.

"Nekiiii" Hide whined.

"What's up?" Kaneki asked.

"Can we play some video games? We haven't done that in a while."

"Hide, I'm really tired." He lied. His kakugane may or may not have still been active, and he didn't want Hide finding out."Lets play in the morning, when we wake up. Ok?"

Hide's dark face formed what seemed to be his puppy dog face, which he always used when he wanted something.

Kaneki couldn't resist that face, he could not remember a time when he had ever said no to it.

He quietly groaned.

"Fine."

"Yay!" Hide yelled.

"Hide! Shut up!"

"Whoops...Sorry."

"Scoot over will ya?"

Hide moved to one side of the couch, leaving room for both his chips and Kaneki. The half-ghoul fell back onto the couch and sighed.

"Do we really have to play games at-" Kaneki looked over to the clock on the wall."3 in the morning?"

"Yes we do. Now, what do you wanna play?"

"Let's play..... Sleep"

"No Kaneki, if you're that tired, I'll go make coffee."

"No. I'll make it, you're bad at brewing it, even after practicing." He slowly stood and practicley dragged himself to the kitchen.

-Slight Time Skip-

When he finished brewing the coffee, he poured in into two mugs and brought them over to the table.

"Thanks Neki." Hide took a long sip of the drink. "You were right, you're much better at making it than I am." He set down the cup and began setting up the console. "Is Play Station 3 alright?" He asked.

Kaneki nodded slightly.

"Oh! Since when have you had Skyrim?!" Hide yelled.

"Dude! Shut up!"

"Oh,right....sorry again.

"I got it a while ago, I wanted to play it so I went out and got it."

"Oh ok, let's play that!"

"Hide.....It's a single player game."

"We can take turns."

"Alright."

Sorry that it's short, I'm suffering from massive writer's block. Also, thank you for 10 reads! I know it's not a lot but it's a start. I will hopefully upload a chapter either tonight or tomorrow. If not, one will be uploaded sometime this week.
