Chapter 3

I'm at school now , and mr . nikaidou isn't here . Neither is zoey , maybe she's sick . Oh wait , yesterday she told me why she wouldn't be here . She said her and mr . nikaidou wouldn't be here because he is gonna take her to the doctor to check out her wound . I hope everything turns out okay . The class sure is noisy when mr . nikaidou isn't here . Amu goes to the board , grabs the chalk puts it on the board and it makes a loud screeching noise . I covered my ears . Then she stops , and looks at the class . I uncovered my ears . " Hey! Be quiet! You don't act this when mr . nikaidou isn't here! So don't even start , so be quiet and work on work for a different assignment or read! If it gets this noisy again , then I'll go to the principal! " she said . Cool and spicy is her thing . " But we can't! Zoey isn't here! " one boy said . And then the other boys , except for tadase got up and start making a big commotion . " What is wrong with you guys? Do you crush on an girl you see? " amu asked . " Why isn't she here? " they asked . " I don't know , I didn't really talk to her much yesterday . " amu said . Well , it's a good think it's friday . I don't know why it's a good thing , but it's good though . Maybe I should tell her where zoey is , but maybe I should just wait till we go to the garden . Yeah , I think I'll wait till were at the garden . " You can be without zoey for once! So be quiet already! " amu said .
Then amu walks to her desk , and sits down while everyone just sits there quietly .

☆♡☆ Zoey's POV ☆♡☆

Me and uncle are in the waiting room sitting in chairs , we're waiting for the doctors to call me in . I'm really nervous , I'm so nervous uncle yuu is holding my hand . My has been hurting since this morning , it feels like it's on fire . " Uncle yuu it hurts . " I said . " Don't worry zoey , they'll call us in soon . " he said . I layed my head on his shoulder , and stayed like that .
He smiled , and so did I . Me and uncle are getting along . Were kinda making memories . Then a nurse comes out .
" Zoey nikaidou . " she said . Me and uncle stood up , and went in and followed the nurse . The nurse took us to a room , and she told us the doctor will be in here soon . So I sat on the bed looking thing , and tried to take off my bandage . Uncle yuu saw that I was struggling , so he came over and helped me . We looked at my wound , it looked horrible . Geez , can things get worse? Uncle yuu holds my hand , and I grip his hand . The doctor comes in , and she smiles . " Hi I'm doctor suzuki , I'm here to see a zoey nikaidou . " she said . " I'm zoey nikaidou . " I said . " And I suppose you are dad? " she asked . " No , I'm her uncle . But I an her guardian , she lives with me . " he said . So she gets out her stethoscope , and checks my heartbeat . " Everything seems fine , so what am I really here to check up? " she said . " Her left arm . " uncle said . The doctor looked at my arm , and her eyes widen when she saw my wound . " What happened? " she asked . " My arm got shot . " I said .
" We cane to see if you could check it out , to see it messed up a nervous system or not . " uncle yuu said .
" Okay , let me take a look . But the only way I can tell is if you take an
X-ray " she said . " Okay . " I said . So we went to the X -ray room , and got it done . Then we went back to the room , uncle yuu kept holding my hand . " Don't worry , everything is gonna be okay . " he said . " You sound like mom , when you say that . " I said . " Did she actually say that? " he asked . " Yes , she kept saying everything is gonna be okay . But I don't know it everything is gonna be okay . " I said .
He smiled at me . " You know , the way you look right now makes me think your someone else . " I said .
" Really? " he asked. " Yes , I mean I haven't ever seen you without your glasses . " I said . " Well , when we get back I'll put then on . " he said .

* A few minutes later *

It's been a few minutes , and the doctor suzuki isn't back yet . I just wish she would hurry , I really need to know . A nurse had came in earlier put some stuff on it to numb it , and then rebandaged it . Uncle yuu has been holding my hand since we got back from the X -ray room . I squeeze his hand sometimes , and he squeezes mine back . I'm really worried , what if she finds something bad? What if I loose the ability to move my left arm? What if there's muscle damage or a nervous system was hit? Okay , there's a lot of what if's . But I have to calm down . I just have to calm down , calm down zoey! Then doctor suzuki comes in , and she's smiling . So maybe the news isn't so bad .
" Okay , I have good news and bad news . " she said . " We'll go for the good news first . " uncle yuu said .
" Okay , the good news is that there is no muscle damage . And no nervous systems were damaged either . So it looks like everything is okay . " she said . " And the bad news . " I said .
" The bad news is that the bullet knicked a bone a bit , so your arm is gonna hurt a for few days maybe even a week . But everything looks good , but I recommend that you take it easy on your arm and protect it from getting even more hurt . " she said . I smiled , and uncle yuu sighed with relief . He smiled at me , and I smiled back . " Thank you , I'm really glad it isn't as bad as I thought . " he said .
" Okay , and I'm gonna need you to come back after a week or two . I'll call you , and tell you when you need to come back in for a check - up . And your welcome . " she said with a smile . So me and uncle yuu left , and are now in the car . " I'm glad it wasn't that bad . " I said . " Me too , I don't know what I'd do if it was worse . " he said . I grabbed my phone , and looked at the time . It's 12:30pm , it's lunch time . And as if it was on que , my stomach growled . And so did uncle yuu's . We laughed . " There's a café near by that I've been wanting to go to , but I had no one to go with me . So you wanna go there? " he asked .
" Sure . " I said . " And why didn't you ask your girlfriend? " I asked . " Well , I didn't think about asking her at the time . It always slipped past my mind , so I never got to it . " he said . " Well , okay I'll go with you . " I said . So he drove us to the café , when we got there we got out . The café is called
" Sweet brew café " . Hmm , has a nice ring to it . " Do you have your purse? " uncle yuu asked ad we walked in . I looked at my waist , and I see my purse . " Yes , and my chara's are in . " I said . " Good , because we don't want them getting lost . " he said . So we went in , found a table and sat down . I sat across from him . We ordered , and now we're waiting for our food . We both got the salad with chopped boiled eggs , it seemed good . I got lemonade to drink , and uncle got water . " So , are you and yukari thinking about getting married? " I asked . Uncle blushed . " Not .. r-right at the moment . Why do you ask? " he asked . " I just figured if you loved her so much , then you and her would get married soon . " I said . " Well if we did , then that's make you and kairi brother and sister . And that would be weird if you two started dating . " he said . Then I blushed , dang he's good .
" Well , I'm not interested in kairi . I mean he seems like a good friend , and he has that brotherly feeling . But no , me and him wouldn't date . " I said . " Well , then I don't have to worry and you two then . " he said .
" You don't have to worry about us in the first place . " I said . Man , it's almost like he knows about my dream . I'm hoping he doesn't , I mean I had told him something different . Oh well , I'll deal with it later .

♢☆♢ Kairi's POV ♢☆♢

Me and the others are in the garden enjoying our tea and snacks . Amu and the others are still trying to figure out why zoey isn't here . And they still don't know zoey is living with
mr . nikaidou , zoey should be the one to tell her right? I mean it's none of my business to tell them . " If you want to tell them , just tell them . " musashi said . Well , there's my answer . " I know where zoey is . " I said . " Where is she class prez? " amu asked . Yeah , amu calls me class prez because I became class president .
" And why isn't mr . nikaidou here either? " tadase asked . " Well we know that mr . nikaidou is her uncle . " I said . " True . " rima said .
" Mr . nikaidou took zoey to the doctors to look at her arm since she got shot yesterday . " I said . " Oh , that's good . " tadase said . " Yeah , that's good news . I'm glad she's getting it checked . " amu said . " Plus , she's living with him . " I said . " What! " rima said . " Are you serious? " tadase asked . " Seriously? " amu asked . " Yes , since mr . nikaidou is her only relative left . She has to live with him , he's her uncle . Plus I read the note , her mom wrote it saying that he is her official guardian if something happened to her or her husband . " I said . " Her dad died , and so did her mom . " amu said . " So did her grandparents . " rima said . " I feel bad for her , she's lost so many people in her life ." tadase said . " Maybe we should cheer her up! " ran said as she got out her pink pompoms . Ran , miki , su and dia are amu's chara's . " Maybe we should make her a gift basket! " su said . " Yeah! That seems like a good idea su! " amu said . " You guys can come over to my house , and we can make it . " amu said once more . " I like that idea , she'll definitely like the gift basket . " tadase said . " And maybe add some gag books! " rima said . Yeah , rima is a big fan of gags . " And when we make it , me and tadase will rule the world! " kiseki said . Kiseki is tadase's chara .
" Hoboy . " amu said . " And hey , I think we should all give her our numbers . " amu said again .
