Mates Again

I'm writing this in first person now. Victoria has started a diary and these are her entries:

It's been a few months since the train ride and the Sorting Hat. I've engulfed myself in my studies to keep away from every Slytherin around me. Severus and that Lily girl are mates, so why can't James, Sirius, and I be mates too? Maybe it is partly my fault, but now I am determined to get them back!

Slytherin and Gryffindor had Potions together today. I kept finding myself staring at James and Sirius. I just cannot get them off my mind. After Potions they are always one of the last to leave, so I stayed at my desk until all the other students were gone. Then I marched back to where they were sitting.

"We really need to talk," I said motioning to the hallway. Sirius went into the hall, but James resisted.

"You are a Slytherin Victoria, how can we trust you?" He replied mockingly.

"And my life has been a living hell for the past month," I motioned to the hallway again, but this time he followed me out.

"I thought you wanted Gryffindor." James said accusingly.

"I did! The stupid hat wouldn't listen to me," I retorted.

"It listened to me," Sirius said.

"Can't we just forget about it and be mates again?" I pleaded.

"Okay," Sirius smiled at me. James was being difficult again though.

"Why should I ruin my reputation by being mates with a Slytherin?"

"Because, James, I was going to be a Slytherin too. It isn't her fault if the Sorting Hat didn't listen to her," Sirius backfired catching James offguard. "I say we be mates again."

"Fine," James crossed his arms and frowned at me.

"Yay," I hugged the two of them so hard they had to push me away.

My life was going great now. We, James, Sirius, and I, befriended a nice boy named Remus Lupin. We're starting to get suspicious though. Remus always has an excuse to leave Hogwarts for a few days each month. Lats month it was that he had to visit his sick mother.

Anyways, we hang out as much as possible, the four of us. We explore the school grounds with an invisibility cloak James 'just found lying around.' James is really good at flying on  broomstick and Sirius is brilliant. Remus and I are the ordinary ones.

This pudgy boy named Peter Pettigrew has been following us around though and it's really getting on my nerves. Sirius and Remus invited him into out group, but I think James is a little uneasy about it too.

I feel we are growing apart somewhat. The boys made up a map they call the Marauder's Map without me.... It's almost the end of our second year and I haven't had much time to write so I apologize for the short entries.
