That night one of the other Slytherin girls shook me away.

"Hey, wake up. There's someone at the door calling for you," when I turned to go back to sleep she snapped. "He won't leave."

I pulled my dressing gown over my pajamas and headed out. The Slytherin common room was almost empty now. Only a few stragglers remained. They were bunched together at the common room entrance listening through the door. To what? I started down the steps to join them when I heard it:

"TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! I know you're there, just open the bloody door!" the voice called.

"Oh my gawd," I yelped and everyone turned to me. They nearly trampled each other trying to push me out the door. I yelped as one of their nails dug into my skin. I had had enough pushing and shoving to last me a lifetime. With one last shove I fell through the entryway. I was staring at someone's feet. Slowly I raised my head and clasped my hands to my mouth. It was Sirius! I scrambled to my feet and leaned on the wall.

"What do you want?" I asked angrily.

Upstairs at the Gryffindor common room entrance Lily had just come face to face with Severus .

"What do you want?" She folded her arms over her chest.

"I want to apologize for being suck a jerk," Sirius replied earnestly.

"Save it" I snapped.

"Save it" Lily snapped at Severus.

"It's just that James and the others, they-"

"Yeah, I know." I pushed my hair out of my eyes.

"But I really do-"

"Yeah, I know"

"Do you believe me?"

"No." I said. "I think Remus or James or someone told you to come apologize to me. Oh by the way, you're not forgiven."

He looked at the floor. Yeah that's right. Be intimidated Sirius! I smiled.

"They didn't. I snuck out." he looked at my innocently.

"Really?"

"Really."

"So we can-"

"Yep," he interrupted and pressed his lips on mine. It was a short kiss but I felt like I'd gone to heaven and back. Sirius sprinted away and I walked back into the common room.

Meanwhile Lily's confrontation had gone the complete opposite mine had. She slammed the door and Severus glumly walked away.
