The Rest of Hogwarts

I felt a hand slip into mine. I clasped it and looked up at Sirius, my Sirius. He pulled me onto a bench nearby. I leaned into him, his warmth overpowering me. I was absolutely in love with this boy. He put his arms around me and put his chin on my head.

"I love you," I whispered. He whispered back the same thing.

James and Lily walked next to each other nearby. They turned and waved at us. Then James lifted Lily up and kissed her. Lilly went into hysterics. Who wouldn't adore that girl? She was funny and sweet.

Sirius handed me a piece of paper and left abruptly. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that it was our seventh and final year at Hogwarts. I was seventeen and, if I don't say so myself, gorgeous. My blonde hair was long and luscious. I had matured and had a beautiful hourglass shaped body. Isn't that what every girl dreamed of? Sirius had shoulder length wavy hair and was muscular and tall. Every girl wants a guy like that right?

I looked at the note:

Forbidden Forest 9 pm.

Short  and to the point, classic Sirius.

That night I walked to the Forbidden Forest. Sirius was nowhere to be found. I was about to give up and go back to the castle when Sirius appeared behind me. I turned around and was about to scream in suprise when he put his hand over my mouth and motioned to be quiet.

When he let go I said: "Why do you insist on scaring me?"

"Come on," he took my hand and pulled my into the woods. Eery noises filled the air and sent shivers up my spine.Sirius seemed unfazed, how did he do it?

We reached a clearing. It had a small lake, unfortunantely it was nearly always frozen. Evergreeens formed a barricade keeping us in and the outside world out. Sirius told me to sit down. I did and stared up at him.

"I always come here to be alone," he stared at the sky, hands in pockets. "It's peaceful."

"Yeah, it feels like nothing can hurt you here," I agreed twrling my hair. He nodded.

"Hey, wanna see something?" He turned his head abruptly now looking at me.

"More suprises?" I laughed but his face stayed serious (no pun intended, lol) so I quickly added: "Sure."

To my suprise he started to shrink, changing, changing. Until he was, and you won't believe this, a dog!!! Wait, I thought. We learned about animaguses in class. Witches and wizards who could change into an animal at will. Oh now it made sense. I patted the dog's back and it nuzzled up to me. Aw, how sweet. Then it turned back into Sirius.

"Wow," I exclaimed. He just shrugged and laid down. I did too.

"Funny, I was named after the dog star," he laughed and pointed to a star. "Right there." We laid quietly for a few minutes.

"How did you do it, turn into an Animagus I mean," I asked breaking the silence. He explained about Remus being a werewolf and them, James, Peter, and him, wanting to make the transition easier on their friends, decided to become Animaguses. Honestly I was a little hurt. My four best friends had been keeping secrets from me, but now was not the time to whine about it.

"So you turn into a dog," Sirius turned into a dog and back in reply. "What do James and Peter turn into?" Sirius hesitated as if he were afraid someone might jump out from behind an evergreen and stab him if he told me.

"James turns into a stag, Peter is a rat."

"In more than one way," I muttered. I still didn't like Peter. Sirius let out a laugh that sounded oddly canine.

After chatting for another hour or so we snuck back into the castle under James's invisibility cloak. Which, by the way, is why I didn't see Sirius until he was right behind me before. Unfortunately he took the cloak up with him to the Gryffindor common room so I had to hold my breath as I creeped down to the dungeons.

That night I slept restlessly. I kept thinking about what would happen after school ended. Would I ever see Sirius again??
