Chapter Seven

By the end of all the tables sharing our table and table ten were tied. There plan was to send the stronger people out and the weak hide and manage guns. I'm not sure I like their plan, but it was an equal vote. So now we're doing a revote against the two options.

Some guys that wear all black came around and hand us black pieces of paper and pens. They decided on pens so we couldn't change our answer.

"Alright remember the rule, no voting for your own thing! You can start!" She announces.

I write down the other teams idea. I kind of had to even if I didn't want to. Once everyone was done the guys dressed in black came back around and grabbed the papers and pens.

"Alright they're counting up the votes!" She yells into the mic. 

"You guys nervous about who won?"Emmet asks.

I shrug and other people at my table murmur their replies.

"Alright the votes show that table," she pauses,"seven won!"

The people at my table clapped out of excitement.

Emmet looked at me,"Lila we won aren't you excited!"

"My name is Lillie," I reply.

He shrugged and walked away to talk to other people.

I look around the room trying to find my sister,but I couldn't. Then someone poked me in the back I turned around.

"Mom?" I asked.

"Yes dear!" She replies and I flew my arms around her.

Then I say after we're done hugging,"Where's Louise?"

"She's not here,"she looks down,"lets not talk talk about it."

I thought it was strange, but nodded.

"How was life when I wasn't around?" She asks me.

I shrug,"it got slightly better at school once my guardian came, but then he broke a promise. We haven't talked much since. Oh and I went and visited Louise!"

She stares at me,"you what? When?"

"I visited Louise. I got back like yesterday,"I repeat.

She stares at me,"what did she say to you before you left?"

I was confused why she was so Interested, but replied,"She told me to leave because the Aireotics were out to find all of us."

She mumbled something that I didn't make out.

Then someone poked me. I spun around to see Tyler.

"Hey," he says.

"Mom this is Tyler, my guardian," I look at her.

"Hello Tyler I've heard so much about you!" She smiles.

Not good things I think to myself.

"Hi Ms. Peterson," he smiles.

"Oh please call me Mara," My mom says,"I'll leave you two to it!"

After that she walks away.

"How are you?" He asks.

"I don't know, my mom was acting strange when I mentioned my sister and Louise didn't come," I blurt out.

He thinks a moment,"do you know why she didn't come?"

I shake my head 'no'.

"Maybe your mom knows," he shrug.

He had a point. Why else would my mom act like that?"

"Right! Well thanks Tyler!" I say trying to escape from him.

"Hey, Lillie, I hope we can hang out sometime soon," he half smiles.

"Yeah we can try," I shrug.

"Cool, I best be going," he says and leaves.

I wave at his back.

This is it, who knows when war begins.
