Justin -

Night begins to fall around us as Mike drives away from the house.
Lizzie has fallen asleep in Katie's arms. Mike looks at her with concerning eyes.

"Is she alright," he whispers.

"Yes," Katie says with a relieving smile," she's just tired, I think that was pretty exhausting for all of us."

"That was to close," Mike replies," we barely got out of there. "

"We wouldn't of had to if we left sooner," Russ comments silently. Atlas elbows him in the side and he shuts up.

Mike looks back slightly, but doesn't reply to the comment.

"I'm just glad everyone's alright," he says with a sigh.

"So, what do we do know?" I ask.

Katie looks ahead at the road, with an expression I can't quiet make out. It's something that says "I don't know". No-one wants to admit the realization that we have nowhere to go and the fact that we have no food or anything to survive with.

"There's a church up the road," Atlas answers, "maybe we could spend the night there."

"It would be a good place to get our thoughts together, until we know what we're going to do, what do you think Katie?" Mike agrees.

"I don't know about this," Katie replies," seems a little unstable of a plan."

"It's not the worst one he's had," Russ says with a smirk. Atlas elbows him again, much harder this time, causing him to wince and grip his side.

"I think we could all use some time to think and figure things out," Atlas says.

"I agree," I say," it would be nice to relax a few minutes and get our heads together."

"What do you mean, Justin. We had plenty of time to relax when we where waiting out the hoards of zombies slowly surrounding us," Russ replies. Atlas slightly moves her elbow as a warning and Russ flinches.

"Russ," Mike says kindly with a smile," I highly suggest you shut up, unless you want my foot surgically removed from your a-"

"Okay!" Katie cuts in,"maybe a little rest would serve us some good, the church doesn't sound like a bad idea. We'll stop there."

Mike and Russ glare at one another, but neither say a word the rest of the ride.

Atlas looks at me and rolls her eyes toward them with a slight smile. I chuckle and lay my head against the window.

...

We pull into the parking lot of the church. It's small and mostly white with a black-ish grey roof. A small stain glass window is near the top of the pointed roof with a cross on it.

We all climb out of the car , with Katie carrying Lizzie inside. Mike looks threw the window on the double doors.

"Anyone inside?" Katie asks.

"I don't see anything," Mike answers.

"Well, can we get in?" Russ asks folding his arms.

"Maybe," Mike replies.

He then turns the handle of the door. We all sigh in relief as it clicks open. Mike pushes it in hesitantly.

The faint moonlight gives us just enough brightness to see inside the church.

We all walk in slowly behind Mike. He pulls out his phone to use as a flashlight for the darker places.

"Looks quiet," Atlas whispers.
