Ron
I stormed into transfiguration and sat down at a desk without a word. The people who were already there (which was about four kids) stared at me until I said "What are you looking at? Can't a guy come to class without being stared at?" Harry came in seconds after I had, and sat down next to me, slightly out of breath. "What was up with you mate? Hermione didn't do anything!" He said, panting afterwards. "She just disappeared and didn't bother to give an explanation! I was freaking out!" I replied angrily. He just gave me a look like 'you bloody idiot.' "She did tell us where she was going. Well, she didn't say exactly where, but that she would meet up in potions! In fact, you were the first one she told before she even considered telling me!" He said with agitation. I could tell he was annoyed, but I wouldn't believe him until Hermione told me herself. But before I could get a word out, a cat hissed from the entrance of the classroom. As it walked to the professor's desk, it turned into professor McGonagall. She stood at the front of the class and made some beginning of the year announcements. "Welcome back students! I hope you realize how completely off schedule the staff is with this whole 'redoing 7th years' for all of you. Although not everyone suffered, it was best we do it for everyone. Think about it as a second chance for some of you." She looked directly at me when she said that. Gotta admit, even after all that's happened, she still has the coldest scolding stare I've ever seen. Colder than mum.
As she continued to talk, I heard someone walk into the classroom. McGonagall stopped talking as soon as she saw him. "Draco? What is it? Make it quick." She said. I heard that name and became angry instantly as I remembered the train ride here, and imagining a possible answer to where Hermione went at breakfast. Draco explained to McGonagall why he came. "Professor Slughorn gave me this note to give to you. About a class transfer for a student." He said coldly, with no emotion as usual. "Alright. Let me see this note." She took the note. "Hm. Yes...tell Professor Slughorn that we will discuss more in the meeting room. You may go now Draco." She said, and turned to put the note on her desk.
I raised my hand when Draco was a decent way away from the classroom. "Yes, Weasley? You have a question?" She asked. "Erm, yes. May I use the bathroom?" I asked. She hesitated at first, then said "Fine. But hurry please." I stood up and was about to leave, when Harry grabbed my arm. He whispered, "You're not really going to the bathroom, are you?" He asked. I just looked at him, indicating he new what I was doing. I hope he got the message.
Once I got a few feet away from the classroom door, I called to Malfoy down the hall. "Malfoy," I called. "What do you want, Weasel?" He replied. I walked up to him so we wouldn't be yelling across the hall. "What are you up to, Malfoy?" I asked him. "Nothing. What do you care? You couldn't pay me to talk if I were up to something. Not even with a single sickle." He replied. He tried to walk off, until I grabbed his shoulder, anger shooting through my body into my grip. "When Hermione left the Great Hall, you left immediately. You followed her, and I know it. You left the Hall with The Daily Prophet in your hand. You knew what had happened in the paper about her." I said, my voice shaking from anger occasionally. He just stared at me for a second, and then said "I don't have time for this, Weasel. Even if i were up to something, I would still not have time for this." He said coolly, shaking my grip off of his shoulder, and took his leave.
I stood there for a while, watching him walk away. I went back to class, trying to figure out how to corner him again. I walked through the door and sat down at my desk, trying to draw the least amount of attention to myself as possible. McGonagall merely looked at me for a second before returning to her lesson. Harry started talking to me under his breath, and we carried on the conversation for the rest of class. "You went after Malfoy, didn't you?" He asked me. "'Course I did. If anyone's up to something, it's him. When Hermione left the Great Hall, Draco left after her. He seemed to have followed her out." I replied. Harry responded, but not in the way I hoped. "He seemed to have followed her out. It doesn't mean he actually did. Hermione told us, especially you, why she left and where she would meet us later. She wouldn't lie to you, Ron. You need to learn to listen." I couldn't believe my ears. I wasn't going to believe a thing until Hermione herself told me, face to face. So he is on Malfoy's side. He was defending him. I thought to myself. He was my best mate, and I wouldn't let Malfoy get to him. "Mr. Weasley, is something on your mind? Something that is obviously more important than my class that, maybe you would like to share?" Professor McGonagall said, rather loudly. I jumped in my seat, startled out of my wits. "Erm...n-no professor." I managed to stammer out. She gave me the 'mother look' and continued to talk. I sat there, dumb struck, as she proceeded to lecture and give homework.Hey guys! I am really sorry that this chapter is late! I've been incredibly busy with a play I'm in, a crap ton of homework, and not to mention that I have finals coming up soon when I'm writing this. Plus I'm working on my other book. Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter! Next perspective is Draco!
