Hermione
I walked down the corridor of the dungeons with emotions racing through my mind at a million miles a minute.
I didn't know how to feel. I didn't know whether or not to feel happy, or foolish, or who knows what else. I came to the stairwell and paused. This was where I stopped with Draco. I remember his eyes clearly; they were a piercing icy blue, unlike anything I've seen before. I felt a sudden rush of something I haven't felt since I kissed Ron. I kept walking up the stairs to return to class. I had so much to tell Ginny, and maybe she could help me figure out what exactly I'm feeling, and more importantly, why.
I returned to the greenhouse just in time to hear the squealing of mandrakes. My hands flew to my ears faster than I realized and Professor Sprout appeared to notice my entrance. She rushed over to put earmuffs over my ears and soon I only heard muffled screams. I rushed over to Ginny to help her with controlling her mandrake. I then went for my bag for a quill, ink bottle, and a small piece of parchment to right down a message to Ginny.
I need to talk to you after class. Walk with me to the bathroom when we're dismissed.
I waited for a reaction, and she looked up and nodded. We proceeded to try and control the mandrake until Professor Sprout ordered us to hand them in. After putting the plants away, she motioned for everyone to take his or her earmuffs off. She began to speak.
"Alright, class! The majority of you have greatly improved with calming the mandrakes down and extracting necessary herbs. Your homework tonight is to write one page of parchment about how to extract remedy ingredients from the mandrakes. Class dismissed!"
I looked at Ginny and motioned her to follow me. About halfway down the way to the bathroom, we were stopped by Harry and Ron.
"Oh! H-hello Ron! W-why are you on this end of the castle? I thought your next class is in the opposite direction..." I said.
"It is, but Harry and I wanted to walk you two to your next class since it's in the same direction." Ron replied.
Everything was racing through my mind about Draco and Ron, and I couldn't figure out what to say. Luckily, Ginny said it for me.
"That's very kind of you boys, but we can walk ourselves to class. However, we need to take care of something for Professor Sprout before we head that way." She said simply.
Ginny and I proceeded to walk to the bathroom without another word to or from Harry and Ron. We were about one hundred feet from the bathroom door when someone bumped into Ginny, resulting in her dropping her books.
"I am so sorry...here, let me help." Said the boy.
Instantly, Ginny and I both recognized that cool, calm voice and pieced it with the streak of platinum blonde we saw in the moment Ginny dropped her things.
Draco.
We stared at him picking up the books along with the rest of the hallway. Even the paintings were staring at Draco in awe and wonder. He handed Ginny her books and looked at us, realizing who he was helping.
"Oh...erm...a Weasley..." He said with a sigh at the end.
He then turned to me, and a small grin almost crept across his face before he caught himself. What felt like eternity, staring into his icy blue eyes, was only a few seconds. I went back into reality when I heard snapping in front of my face. Ginny was saying things like 'Earth to Hermione' and 'Are you ok, 'Mione?' She and everyone else around came back into focus and Ginny thanked Draco for helping. We then continued to walk to the bathroom, incident free.
We entered and hung our pouches and books on the shelf near the entrance and talked at the sinks.
"Ok, so two questions. One, why did you bring me to the bathroom of all places to talk about something? And two, what just happened between you and Malfoy back there? Last I checked he was the enemy...and a bit of a creep. Like on the train. He just happened to be outside our compartment when the boys came back from getting on their robes." She said as she was fixing her half-ponytail in the mirror.
"Well, I wanted to talk to you about Malfoy, actually...we had a run-in earlier when I went to deliver a note to Professor Slughorn. He had apparently left his class for some reason and was returning when we bumped into each other at the top of the dungeon stairs." I told her about the rest of my encounter and she stared at me in awe when I finished.
"Are you serious? That doesn't sound like Malfoy at all...was he under a charm or something?" Ginny asked.
"Yes, I'm serious. I would've been able to tell if he was under a charm." I replied.
"Ok, is that all you wanted to tell me? What was that thing about with Malfoy before we came in here? I would like to assume it was related to what you just told me, but it was really weird." Ginny asked.
"I was getting to that. So, don't freak out when I tell you this. It's going to sound absolutely nuts, but...ever since this morning on the dungeon stairs, and definitely after what happened in the hall," I began. "I-I think...I think I might...well, I don't know--"
"You think you might what? Just tell me! You can trust me!" Ginny said with concern. "What's wrong? What's going on?"
"I THINK I LIKE HIM!" I said quickly, and louder than intended. She dropped her jaw slightly and stared at me for a long time before she finally spoke again.
"I-I'm sorry, what did you just say?" She said with concern.
"I think I like him...but I don't know! His eyes, I could see good and sincerity in them. He's changed, and I can't deny that." I sighed. "I just don't know what's going on in my head. Maybe I'm going crazy, maybe it was the potion fumes in Slughorn's classroom, I just don't know."
"We should probably get to class now...don't want to get detention." Ginny finally said after a long pause. She was grabbing her things and almost out the door when I tugged her sleeve.
"Please don't tell anyone, especially Ron. I just don't know what I'm feeling right now. I need to figure it out." I said.
"Of course, 'Mione. Your secret is safe with me." She said with a reassuring tone.
We then left the bathroom and entered back into the noisy and crowded halls to get to our next class.

After Hermione and Ginny left, the creaking of a stall door was heard, and Moaning Myrtle emerged.
"Interesting...I do believe a trip to the boys bathroom is in my future...that's what that little ginger gets for throwing a book at me five years ago...'Don't tell Ron.'" She said in a mimicking voice.
