I don't know why Newt hates me so much. I didn't do anything to him. At least anything I know about.

Sure I'm sarcastic a lot, and can be annoying but that's no reason to hate me like Newt does. He has a fiery hatred for me, so of course out of every guy here I chose to like him.

"Heyo shank."

"What do you want slithead?" I was talking to my brother Minho. He had just gotten back from running in the maze while I was working in the gardens.

"Just making sure you weren't drooling over or killing Newt."

"Slim it or I will personally feed you to a griever."

"Like you could."

"Whatever, go away so I can work."

"Fine, see you at dinner Mar." My nickname between all the gladers , even Newt. Minho started it and it kinda just stuck, good thing I like it.

At dinner I sat at my usual table with Minho, Ben and sometimes Thomas. When he isn't sitting with Newt.

We ate and Minho elbowed me in the gut for no reason.

"Ow. What?"

"Shhh, look." He pointed to Thomas and Newt.

"What?" Until I noticed that Newt was looking at me.

"He's staring at you."

"He's probably just talking klunk about me."

"With those heart eyes?"

"Your crazy. I'm going to the deadheads."

"See ya Mar." I walk away and get to my tree. I sit down and think for about an hour. Until I hear a twig snap. In up in an instant and pull out my knife.

"Woah, relax its just me." It was Newt.

"Like your any better than a attacker."

"That hurts."

"It should."

"Can I tell you something." He seemed to soften a bit.

"Sure, it's not like you hate me and ignore me all the time."

"That's what I want to talk about."

"Really?"

"Kinda."

"Go ahead I'm listening." Kinda.

"Ok so the reason I'm so horrible to you is because, well, I like you. I like you a lot. I just had no idea how to tell you. I'm sorry about that."

Wait. WHAT? He liked me back, not hated me with a fiery passion but liked me.

"Woah, wow."

"I know you probably hate me, but I had to get it out there."

"I'm glad you told me. I have to tell you something too."

"Ok what's that, I'm stupid and you don't like me back."

"First, yes you are stupid. Two, yes I do like you back."

"Great." He said sarcastically.

"Think about what I just said."

"Why you said I was stupid and that you like me."

"Once more."

"I'm stupid and you like me!"

"There."

"Huh?"

"For klunks sake, I like you!"

"Wait for real?" I decide to to kiss him lightly. He smiled and I smiled.

"Yup." We kissed again and we hugged tightly.

"Bout time you slithheads." Just like my brother to come and ruin it."
