SEQUEL:: Synopsis, Sneak Peak and More!

Hello everyone, I'm working on the sequel. It is going to feature Jason - Jake's partner. It takes place after the last chapter of this one - chapter 16 - and after the memorial day bonus chapter. I need a cover made for it. Right now, I'm still spit-balling some ideas for a name. Right now, I'm calling it The Escort: Book Two.

Here are some ideas that I'm thinking about calling it.

1. The Companion

2. The Keeper

3. My Guardian Angel

4. The Defender

I think I like number one the best. Anyways, would anyone like to make a cover?

Now here is the synopsis:

                  

Macy Williams hasn't always been the girl behind the computer. Three years ago, her life changed. She left the CIA and started working for the FBI. Since the accident that nearly claimed her life, she hasn't been back in the field.

Jason Teal is as cocky as ever. He goes from woman to woman, trying to hide the loneliness. One night out with Jake, Milly, Alice, Shawn, and Macy and everything changes. He's captivated by a women who has a dark past. She's guarded, mysterious, and beautiful. 

Macy has the opportunity to go back into the field but there is a catch. She would be Jason Teal's partner. She's heard all about that arrogant jerk. She'll just have to trust her gut. When it comes down to it, will she trust her gut or go with her heart?

"Run!"

Macy reached for her partner. "Just leave me, Macy. I'll be okay. You have to get out of here before the whole place goes!"

Macy wiped a stray tear before nodding and taking off towards the stairs. She knew that this was going to be an impossible mission. She had a gut feeling that something was going to go wrong. Why didn't Shane just listen to her? Why did she agree to go on this suicide mission? Because she loved him. That's why she wasn't supposed to fall in love with him. That's why she wasn't supposed to agree to marry him. That's why she wasn't supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant.

She reached the stairs, taking them two at a time. She rounded a corner, her body slamming into a hard surface. She recognized the man as an enemy. She stepped back, swinging her elbow around, making contact with the man's face. He let out a groan as he lunged at her. She gave him a swift to the knee but not before her back slammed against the concrete wall. Her breath leaving her. She gasped for air. She threw her head forward, head-butting the guy. He let go of Macy, making her fall to the ground, gasping for air. She picked up her gun, putting a bullet in the man's head. She took several deep breaths before taking off up the stairs again.

The series of warehouses resembled that of a maze. There were miles of tunnels underneath the old abandoned buildings. Just two more flights of stairs and another corner and she would be free. She could call for backup. Hopefully help would be here before the building went up in flames. She knew it was false hope.

She fired several more shots, clearing a path. She glanced down at her watch. She has 15 seconds to get far away from the building. She reached the top of the stairs. She just had to round the corner and get out the door and she would be free.

Time was ticking. She had ten seconds to get out.

She gasped as a ripping, burning sensation radiated through her body. She looked down, touched her abdomen, and saw the blood. She had five seconds. She couldn't worry about the person who had shot her, she had to get out of here.

Five seconds...

She was almost there.

Four seconds....

Three seconds....

She just had to twist the knob and pull.

Two seconds...

Daylight met her eyes. Blinding light.

One second....

She stepped out into the daylight, clutching her stomach, when a loud explosion rang out, she felt it before she could do anything about. Her body was launched into the air.

It felt like flying. Was this what dying felt like? Maybe dying wasn't so bad.
