Rachels pov :
Its been 5 years since Finn and I got divorced and he moved out . After that I finished school got my masters in theater production and got offered a part in Funny Girl as the lead Fanny Brice. Now that I'm done on broadway I've been asked to make an album . I'm really happy I've already written a few songs about life , love , and Emma . I walked into the recording studio for my first day . "Hi guys." I said excitedly. "Hey Rachel." They all said. "Rachel you're here." My agent Bonnie said. "Yup and I'm ready to record. I actually wrote a few songs." I told her. "Great , but before we start recording I wanna introduce you to Jake Humphrey one of the producers who you'll be working with. " She said. Suddenly a tall blonde man with shaggy hair in a suit came up to me and smiled. "You must be Rachel, nice to meet you I'm Jake Humphrey. " He said smiling with that California smile and bright blue eyes. "Hi Jake , its nice to meet you too." I said and shook his hand feeling sparks. "So you wrote some songs?" He asked me. "Yeah." I said and I handed them to him . "They're great lets start with the one called , ' Baby Emma'." He said. "Okay." I said. I went into the booth put on my head phones and started :

Your little hands wrapped around my fingers and you looked at me and gave a great big smile.

You're only one day old and this world is so new to you and you have so much to learn.

The first night home you cried and cried and cried. And I ran into the room and held you tight and said ,

"Everything will be okay , everything will be alright , mama's here now and I'm going to protect you right. This world is big , this world is a lot to take but I'll be here right by your side. I'll always be here , baby Emma".

You so beautiful and so cute to be with.

I look at you and I see all the good in the world .
And now you're gone and my hearts filled with pain....

You were only 10 days old
and always slept good for me .
But then one night you didn't wake up.

I wiped my tears and took my head phones off and walked out of the booth. "Excuse me ." I said and went outside to get some air. I was sitting at the bench thinking of Emma and Finn. Truth was I missed him like crazy and I missed my baby too. "Hey." Jake said sitting next to me. "Oh hi." I said wiping my tears. "Are you alright?" He asked me. "Yeah I just got a little emotional that song its hard to sing." I told him. "Was Emma your daughter?" He asked me. "Yeah , she was." I said. "How did it happen?" He asked me. "She had a seizure and died in here sleep. " I said. "Thats awful. " He said. "We didn't even know till I got up because I had an alarm set to feed her." I said. "We?" He asked me. "I was married for almost a year to my highschool sweetheart. " I told him. "What happened?" He asked me. "You ask a lot of questions." I said, "But after Emma died . We were both a wreck and I found him at a bar one night kissing some blonde skanky waitress. We loved eachother so much but we were toxic after she died." I said. "I'm really sorry about that , but you deserve better." He told me. "Thank you, but I'm not really looking for anyone at the moment." I told him. "Yeah of course, we should keep this 100 % professional. I'm sorry." He said apologizing . "No its okay , I feel better talking about. " I told him. "You know you're really beautiful and talented , I think you can be very successful here." He told me. "Really?" I asked him. "Yeah , you have more talent in your pinky than most people." He told me. I smiled and said, "You're really sweet." I told him. "So are you , do you maybe wanna go out sometime , get some lunch , as professional friends?" He asked me. "Okay. " I said. He smiled and helped me up and we went inside.
