Harry ~ "Nice sleep, gorgeous?" Harry asked, kissing your forehead gently as you opened your eyes. You smiled and nodded, snuggling to his side and resting your head on his chest. You looked at the screen of his laptop as he scrolled down Google.
"What are you doing?" you asked sleepily. He pulled you closer to his side as you yawned again. You were exhausted, since your morning was filled with decorating yours and Harry's flat. It was once again the holidays, and you loved it. You had sent Harry to pick up the tree early this morning, and had the ornaments and garland ready for when he got home. While you dressed the tree, Harry strung lights around the living room and kitchen, where you spent most of your time. He hung wreaths on doors, put garland on the mantle, and even had time to make you hot chocolate. Every year you would have a day like this, since your first Christmas living together.
"A bit of research is all," he replied simply, making you smile. The glow from the lights on the tree and around the room cast shadows across his face from where the both of you sat on the couch. Soft Christmas music played through the surround sound speakers. You looked around the room, enjoying the warmth the holidays brought.
"For what?" He looked down at you and ran his large hand through your tangled hair. You don't know how long you've been asleep, but judging from the lack of light coming in from the widows, it was past 4 in the afternoon.
"For a birth plan. I know we haven't talked about it. But Mum reminded me how close we were until she comes, and I just wanted to see what our- well, your options are," he smiled, proud that he had thought of something that you hadn't.
"Find anything yet?" you asked, trying to sit up. Harry reached for your waist to help you sit up against the pillows, but you pushed his hands away and sat up by yourself. He knew your actions weren't meant to hurt his feelings, and that you just liked being independent.
"Sorry," he whispered, going back to his computer. You smiled, kissing his cheek, and draped your arm over his chest once you were comfortable. He opened up a few of the tabs he had on the open window.
"I didn't know that not being in the hospital was safe. And you know I don't like doctors and machines and stuff, so... there's a few other options. We could go to a birthing center, but there will still be those annoying beeping machines and doctors. And then you could have the bean at home. I think Dr. Wiwi-" he stopped as the both of you began giggling at her name. You've known the woman for about seven months, but neither of you had stopped thinking her name was funny.
After gaining his composure, Harry continued, "Remember how she talked about staying at home, and she could come here instead of the hospital. She said she knows another doctor that could come, too?"
"Right, right. We weren't really paying attention since we thought the hospital would be fine. But would you be okay with at that yucky liquid all over our bed and floor?"
"Now that you say it..." he smirked, pulling you to his chest and kissing your neck playfully. You laughed, yelling for him to let go jokingly.
"No, but I couldn't care less. If you want to have the baby here, you can have the baby here. Or in the shower, or the bathtub, or the bed, or the kitchen table. I don't care. It's all about you, yeah?" he said. You smiled, squeezing your arms around his lanky torso.
"You know your stuff, babe," you stated, cupping his stubbly cheek in your palm. "And I do like the sound of having our baby in the place that she'll grow up. Plus, it'll be more comfortable afterwards. I think it'll make me feel better about the whole thing."
He returned your smile, saying "We'll talk to Dr. Wiwi about it." You both were sent into another fit of laughter, throwing bad jokes about her name back and forth.
