Harry ~ You're kitchen was a disaster, but your home smelled amazing. There was a pot of chili on the stove, lasagna in the oven, and 3 other meals ready to be packed. Harry was working on prepping the chicken pot pie and you were busy organizing what was already in the freezer. You had put the day aside to prep meals for after the baby came, when you would be too exhausted to even turn the stove on. This way, you could pull a container out of the freezer and heat it up for dinner. It was perfect. And it was a good way to channel your nesting instincts.
"Can you hand me the frozen peas, please?" Harry said, holding his hand out. You dug through the back of the freezer, taking a minute to find them.
"Here you go, love," you said, handing him the bag. He smiled, and cut it open to dump into the bowl. The two of you had worked perfectly together today, not getting in each others way at all. It was 4 in the afternoon now, and you just wanted to be done. You were exhausted, but you still had so much more to do. You stopped moving around the ice cream containers and ice packs to look at the mess of kitchen. Pots and pans filled the sink, the floor was disgusting, and there were food splatters everywhere.
"Ooh, the lasagnas ready!" Harry said when the timer went off. He grabbed the oven mitts and took the dish out of the oven, placing it on the stovetop. "Want to eat this tonight, or the chili?"
"That. It looks amazing." You said, sighing. You sat down at the counter, needing to rest your feet. Harry gave you a sympathetic frown, walking over to you with the oven mitts still on. He grabbed your face, squishing your cheeks, and kissed your nose.
"Is my girl tired?" You nodded, and he pulled you to him. You rested your head on his chest and closed your eyes. "I can finish here, if you want to go relax."
"No, Harry, no. It's too much for you to do by yourself. I can help."
"Seriously, I can manage on my own if you're too tired. You're 8 months pregnant, I understand." He laughed, and you smiled up on him.
"No, I'm fine. But if I could sit down? I'll package the food of you bring the stuff here." He nodded. Moving the containers and plastic bags closer to you.
"I think we're pretty prepared, don't you?" Harry said, moments later.
"I do think so. I think we're going to be pretty good at this whole parenting thing." You smirked. "One more month and we'll find out if I'm right."
Niall ~ Niall was finally home now, for good. He didn't have to leave again, which was so relieving to you. It was so nice to have him around again, especially because it was getting harder for you to do simple tasks around the house now that your stomach was so big. Your feet were so swollen and sore, so he has made it a habit to rub your feet every night. And he was happy to be home now, too. He loved spending time with you and seeing the pregnancy progress. His favorite part of the day was when you would sit on the couch together and he would keep his hands on your stomach, feeling his babies movements.
It was December, Christmas time. Your tree was up, you had string lights hung around the house, and wreaths on the doors. Niall loved the holidays, and had insisted on going all out this year, but with your due date approaching, you had a lot of prep work to do.
Today, you were setting up the house for babies. You had Niall assemble a changing table in the downstairs bathroom so you didn't have to go upstairs every time they needed a change. After that, he helped you put together two small cribs so the babies could sleep in your bedroom the first month or two. One baby on Niall's side and one on yours. The cribs rocked and were level to the bed for easy access. They were actually perfect.
