Thump. Ba-dump. Thump thump thump thump thump. Prince Seiker felt that his heartbeat was most-likely so loud that the elegant Queen of Nasods would be able to hear the ruckus. At this rate, his fragile blood-pumping organ seemed like it would burst out from his chest, flopping onto the hard, stony, solid, but stable concrete.

'Too soon, Chung!' He regretted his indirect confession, though it was still possible that Eve could've taken it differently than he did.

He liked her.

Ever since the beginning of eighth grade, when their highschool lives first blossomed. Chung had secretly admired Queen Eve, and eventually, it became a massive crush, though it was unnoticeable all these years due to his 'skilled' acting.

Sometimes, he pitied her for her lack of emotion. He wanted her to experience happiness, just like everybody else. Would it have been better that way? Hopelessly, he wanted for the impossible to be reality.

The most he had ever gotten from Eve was a greeting, and perhaps a small and brief conversation, though it was rare. He was always too timid to ask for more. Talking to her, even if it was a short "Hello", meant the world to him.

But, coincidentally, a window of opportunity opened up on that special day. A chance for the young Prince to spend time with his desired love.

However, there was a downside to the conversation subject he had selected.

What if, Eve wasn't his pair? It was more likely than unlikely.

He was eager to know. Would the Queen really be the love of his life? Would the optimistic Prince feel sadness and sorrow for the first time in eternity? Yes, he was excited to have the knowledge, but, would it lead to his heart being broken into pieces?

Curiosity killed the cat. He desired to live in his peaceful dream for a little longer, but, when would an occasion like this present itself again? Never? He had to ask, now.

Chung wasn't ready for it. But he knew, he was fully aware that his daze would soon crumble. Or was he simply being too pessimistic?

"A-Alright, Miss Eve. Let's just move back to our original topic of discussion..." he boldly declared, though he felt like everything inside would break any second now.

The Nasod nodded. "Positive. Eve is victorious."

"Um. Y-You see, I'm just really curious, but, if you have your formulated supplies with you, m-may I check if we're compatible or not? Oh, uh, but please don't feel forced, Miss Eve--!" Chung stammered, his palish face feeling warmed up again.

Her footsteps came to an abrupt pause, as she removed her backpack from her body, throwing it onto the ground. She knelt down, rummaging through her equipment for the heart and key. "Eve... doesn't see the point in doing that. But, I will comply because Eve does owe you, for helping Oberon and Ferdinand with cleansing the classroom."

"Ah, thank you so much, Miss Eve!" he smiled, attempting to hide his obvious blush.

The Queen had the amaranth heart and key in her hands, as she stood up, leaving her bag on the sidewalk. "You have accomplished a notable feat, making a Queen kneel down and such..." she let out an exasperated sigh, or at least as close to one as she could've gotten.

Chung blinked, realizing what he had done. "I-I'm so sorry, Miss Eve! I didn't mean to, I swear--!"

"Take them, and do whatever you wish. Hurry. It would be preferable if we didn't waste time here." she commanded in a poised manner.

"Y-Yes!"

Taking the items from the Code: Empress, the Chaser carefully retrieved his own azure set from his schoolbag, being extra cautious not to harm the objects Eve had momentarily entrusted him with.

The two hearts glowed.

It was a faint illumination, it was weak.

It wasn't a glimmering radiance, it wasn't a marvelous luminescence.

But it gave Chung the hope he needed to keep believing.
