Chapter 6: Heroes.

~ Audra ~

I sit down on my bed as I watch the rain pound against the window.

Roman dragged me to his castle and I found out something about him.

He's the Alpha King.

He also said since we're mates, supposedly, that I'm staying with him.

After I put up a fight saying I refused to stay here and he had no right, he reminded me something. No one would dare stop him from keeping me here. And without my parents or my people to help me, he was right. I was strong and fast but neither was enough to escape or take on the Royal Pack. So he gave me a room a few doors down from his after I told him I wouldn't share a room with him.

I wasn't going to go back to the Castle with that one weirdo who hung out with chickens and woven baskets. Which is why I didn't protest to staying here in the castle as much as I should've, even if it was with a mutt. I should've went down kicking and screaming, but my Castle seemed bare and lifeless without everyone and it gave me a sick feeling.

A knocking sounds on my door causes me to look up from my hands.

No later than a second, a girl with brown hair and green eyes stands there, a look of disgust on her face.

"So you're the one the Alpha King brought back?" She spits and I raise an eyebrow.

"I might be." I say and she gapes.

"You can't speak to me that way! The Alpha King and I used to be in love, he won't stand for this." She bellows and I start braiding my hair looking away.

"Key words, used to be. And if you were in love, why am I here calling him by his name while you have to address him by his formal title like all his subjects would." I state and she gasps.

"You're unbelievable! All of you bloodsuckers truly are disgusting." She says and I shrug.

"I don't have time for your irrelevant opinions. There's a reason that I'm up here a few doors down from him and you are not." I say and she starts shaking, hands balled into fists at her sides.

Someone gets worked up easily.

She quickly walks out of the room slamming the door shut as I lay back on my bed.

Right now I didn't have it in me to fight with that girl and put her in her place.

I was just much too tired.

A maid came in later on and brought me dinner, so I was kind to her. Any other treatment would've been rude.

After finishing my food I went and showered enjoying the warm water on my tense muscles as I shampooed and conditioned my hair. The shampoo was the one I've always used and I wondered if in some way Roman knew this was my favorite soap.

Once I wrapped a dark red towel around myself I put on a pair of panties and a bra. They were new with tags still on them, how they were the perfect size I'd never know.

Because he's your beloved, you know this place. A small voice says in my head.

I put on some comfy navy blue sweats on then a black long sleeve v-neck and finally crawled into bed.

The sheets were cold yet soft against my skin, but somewhere in my mind I knew that there was a place more comfortable than this bed.

I brushed off the thought as I turned off the light and layed in bed not really sure of what to do.

There was no one here for me but myself and my thoughts. I didn't understand why my father left me, why my parents left me. I was confused and didn't know what to do. Surely they had just gone on vacation, maybe a getaway. But why would all the villagers go? Relocation maybe?
