Chapter 13: Fireflies

It had been a while sense we had taken off. I just sat thinking about my certain doom. Remember. You are doing this for your friends. I say to myself.

The heli suddenly lurches forward.

I get up. "Hey, Hill is everything okay...?" I ask walking up to the front cabin.

"I don't know! The controls are going berserk! What the hell!?" The helicopter was basically driving its self! And then it plunged straight down.

"AHHH!" I screamed as I was thrown backwards, landing on my back. Everyone else was screaming too.

Henry on the other hand was silent. He was concentrating on something.

The chopper slowly started to slow and landed softly on the ground.

He was panting heavily. I ran over and hugged him tightly and kissed him. "Thank you." I whispered in his ear.

"Welcome." He breathed through heaving.

"Damnit!" Hill yelled climbing out of the cockpit. "This stupid piece of crap I swear!" She then uses some choice swear word which I am not willing to repeat and opens the gate.

I was silently thanking whatever had caused us to crash land. It was giving me another day of freedom.

She started pulling blankets out of compartments in the helicopter and handed them to us.

I walked out of the heli as did everyone else and spread one blanket out for underneath me and laid down. I pulled the second blanket over me. Then, I noticed a glow out of the corner of my eye. I sprang up and started prancing around chasing it.

"Cass, What are you doing?" Henry asked.

"Catching a firefly." I said as I ran past him. I was catching up and swiped the air. I opened my hand slowly to check but, then Max came up behind me and yelled "BOO!" It basically killed me!

"MAX! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" I screamed. I ran after him,thrashing my arms about. Lexi joined us and helped me chase him. Then Henry came up behind me and grabbed me. I was still thrashing my arms, laughing as hard as I could.

"Hey!" I yelled at him.

"You gotta pay a price." He started tickling me.

"F-fine!" I kissed him on the cheek. "THERE!" I slapped him on the arm and ran away. Lexi and Leah had tackled Max to the ground and were tickling him. I jumped and landed on top of them.

"DOGGY PILE!" Henry shouted and jumped on top of me.

"Ahh!" I screamed as we tumbled down. We were all laughing so hard. it hurt. Then we all just laid there for a while. I put my head on Henry's chest. He kissed my head. The stars and the fireflies mixed together were beautiful. I could have laid there forever.

"Better get to bed." Hill yelled. Everyone jumped up and ran over to their 'beds'. I snuggled up into my blanket.

I felt wanted.
