Obstacles

Once Dale woke up, we decided to go out. Dale was talking about a really cool park he found on the way back home, so we decided to go. It was about 10 minutes away, so we started walking.

On the way there, we found a 7eleven and decided to buy breakfast. I bought a package of mini donuts while he got a large lemonade. We shared our food with eachother the rest of the way there, while we talked about life.

Eventually, we arrived at the park. He was right, it was really cool, but I thought it was beautiful. There were gleaming flowers of all different colors and bright healthy trees planted in the ground. There was also a small pond with ducks and fish. It was perfect. Once we were done talking on a bench and hanging around there for about 30 minutes, we decided to take a different route home into the woods that took about 5 minutes longer, but we had all the time in the world.

When we got back to the treehouse, Dale started climbing up, and I followed. "GET BACK!!" He yelled. "Wha-" "RUN" I jump down and look down at Dale looking in the distance. "Whats wrong?" I ask confused. "Kate, just please run." He replied shakily. I start to back up slowly.

Suddenly, I feel someone grab my wrist from behind and I turned around. They had a mask on and a taser pointed at me. I slowly turn around and look at Dale, but all I see is him lying on the ground while someone with a matching mask stood over him with a taser. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my sides, and my vision went black.

My eyes flutter open. I am looking at a blank room that is exactly how it looked in my dreams. I slowly stand up and look out the small protected window on the door. All I can see is a hallway with another door. I take a closer look. I see Dale asleep on the couch across the hall from me. Suddenly, a man in a suit unlocks the door for his room and someone else picks him up and takes him away from sight. "No" I whisper to myself. I can't breathe. This can't be happening.

After about 10 minutes someone bangs on my door 3 times just like in my dream. Why even bother knocking, its not like I can say anything that they will listen to. They slowly opened the door. "Ahh, I see you're awake" The man in the suit exclaimed. "Well I know you are probably asking yourself many questions, but don't worry all will be explained soon." He said with a smile that made his creepy green eyes stand out.

"Get away from me!" I shrieked as the bulky man that took my brother away inched toward me. He grabbed my arms and shoved me towards the door. I was squirming trying to get away from these people as fast as possible. They brought me to an office where I saw Dale sitting in a chair awake, now. They sat me next to him and had the bulky guy wait by us. "Well, my darlings" the green eyed man started," I have picked you two to be in my game, we have been watching you for quite some time now, and I think you would be the perfect competitors, of course since no one out there loves you, no one will ever miss you. We will start preparing by implants then you will begin to train. I will let you know what's fully going on once the procedures are done, but we have a deadline, so don't try to struggle." He said in the most nonchalant way. Then he clapped his hands in a dismissing order and we were dragged into a white room.

A petite girl who looked like a maid walked in with two hospital scrub uniforms, and handed them to us. "Get dressed, then wait here for other instructions." She said and then walked off and locked the door. "What is going on?!" I yelled. Dale looked so worried. "I'm so sorry if it wasn't for me, we wouldn't have left home and they wouldn't have gotten us. " Dale said while sobbing. "Dale, if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have gotten away from the wicked grandparents of the west." I replied reassuringly.

"What are we going to do, actually follow their orders?" Dale asked. "No" I replied staring into space. They cant force us to have surgery, could they? All of a sudden someone knocked on the door and politely said,"If you aren't going to change yourselves, I will surely come and help you. " No way was I going to let that creep get near me again.

We changed into the scrubs and sat down and waited. Waited for whatever was going to happen. I have to survive. We have to survive. I will do what I can.
