They dragged us into two different rooms. I hesitantly walked into my room. I was exactly like one of those creepy rooms in a horror movie, but more decorated. In the middle of the dimly lit room was a hospital bed. The bulky man shoved me toward the bed as his brown eyes glared at me. "Wait here." His deep voice growled.
The green eyed man walked in cheerfully "Well since it's official and you two will be my players, I guess I should tell you what's going on." He continued while the bulky man walked toward me with a needle. He grabbed my arm. "My name is Josephiah, but you can call me Joseph. Now, Katie.." "It's Kate." I growled at him. "Now, Katie you and your brother are very special. I have picked you to participate in a series of challenges or 'games'. They will test your strength and riddle solving skills. Your brother and you will be competing together as partners. Oh, and by the way you will be competing against other teams, to the death." He smirked and clapped two times as a signal.
The brown eyed bulky man held me down and stuck the needle in my arm. My vision was fading. "Wait..." I managed to say before going into a deep sleep.

I wake up confused. I am in a different room from before. This time, its a blank room with nothing but the bed I'm laying on, but something seems strange. I try to sit up, but I feel a sharp pain in my side. I lift up the shirt I'm wearing and I see a bandage wrapped around my torso. I notice that there is also a bandage on both my arms. I slowly stand up, cautious so I would not reopen the stitches. I walk up to one wall that looks like it is one way glass. I gently place my fingers on it, and it changes and turns clear. I can see into another room that looks identical to the one I'm in right now. I put my head up to the glass and see a body on the bed in there. "Hey! Hey! Can you hear me?!" I yell trying to wake them up. She shoots straight up and her black curls bounce as she walks towards me.
"Who are you?" She asks with her bright blue eyes staring at me with curiosity. "I'm Katie- I mean Kate, who are you and what are we doing here?" I reply hesitantly. "Oh, I'm Acacia, and you seriously don't know where we are, or what we are going to do?" She whispers. I shake my head. " Really? I thought your parents would've told you before they entered you in here. Well, we are here to compete in many games against other teams, Each team is from a different sponsor, aka a billionaire that puts their team together based on skills. We go through 7 different tests, and if you complete them all without getting killed, you win the game and you and your sponsor get a certain amount of money!" She shrieks excitedly.
Why would parents give away their children to be put to the test and possibly be killed? The door to my room slides open, and I turn around slowly, Joseph. " I see you've met one of your associates, " he clicks a button on a small remote in his hand and it makes the glass go black again.
"Come, follow me to see your brother." He continues as I follow. " Acacia has been brought here by her parents with her twin brother, Wess. Unlike you, they want to participate. I know you are probably wondering why we chose you and your brother, simple answer. When you and your brother were in high school, before you know what, you were placed in advanced mechanics class, while your brother was placed into advanced geometrics, I'm going off on a limb here, but I would say you two were very smart. This is why I chose you, to-" I stop following.
"You chose us to compete in some death games against our own will because you thought we were smart?!?!" I yell, " Is this some kind of sick joke?!" He slaps me across the face and I stumble back. "I don't think you should talk to the person who is trying to make your life better!" "How can you say you are going to make my life better?!" I scream back at him. "You'll thank me later." He growls and drags me into his office where I see Dale sitting in the exact same spot as before. I run over to him.
"Your arm" he gasps as he gently grabs my bandaged arm. "Yeah, I also have one on my stomach, I don't know what they did." He pulls up his scrubs on one side of his leg and there is a bandage twice the size as mine just sitting on his leg.
"Now you two..." Joseph starts. "You didn't think I would just throw you into a death trap without experience, did ya? Well you are going to train mentally and physically for 2 months before the big game. Oh, and did I forget to mention you are not going in this alone? Well, bring them in!" He shouts. "These lovely people right here are your teammates!"
