Obstacles

"No" I whisper to myself and cover my mouth with my hands. I walk backwards. I have to save him. My eyes start watering. Focus, I need to save him.

I look at the button on the table. Okay. I press it slowly and the room build around me. The room is very cluttered. I look around an there are three sashes hanging on the wall. One is green, blue, and red. I look around and see a chest. I open it, and there's a book. A really big book. I start flipping through it and there is a green tabbed page. It has 46719 written in it.

I put it on the desk and kept looking.

20 minutes later

I have 40 minutes left and I cant find anything. I look at the cabinet and all I see in it is a rotting apple. I close it and keep looking. Ugh. I see a glass of water and smeared blue numbers next to each other. I can't make out most of the numbers, wait. I crouch down level with the glass, and look through it. The numbers are way clearer. 93750.

8 minutes left

I'm running around, I can't find anything for it. I can't be the reason of his death. My eyes start watering. I can't. I keep rechecking everything, but nothing makes sense. I check all around, but can't find a thing. Of course! I run to the cabinet and yank it open. The red apple. I turn it around and 40281 is carved into it. I run over to the sashes and twist each lock and enter the number.

The door clicks open and I run out. Dale is exiting out of his room. I run over to him, my eyes watery. "Dale." I sob out. He hugs me and says," What's wrong?" " I thought you were going to die." I reply shakily. "What?" He asks confused.

Wess' POV

Today, my task was to problem solve, but unlike Kate and Dale, I got to work with a partner. There was a huge glass wall with many holes, and different colored ropes twisted everywhere. We have 50 minutes to untangle all the ropes and use the holes to climb up and ring a bell at the top.

Me and Acacia are running back and forth, we were on separate sides of the wall, so it would test our communication skills. "Over here!" I yell at her. This was the last knot. She untied it on her side and the doors on both sides clicked open. 7 minutes to spare. We ran out of the rooms and celebrated by hugging. We had always been good at working together, since we are twins, we sorta have twin telepathy. Sort of...

We looked around and saw Kate crying and Dale hugging her. He was confused. What happened? I mouthed. He shrugged. We walk towards them. "Hey, are you okay?" Dale whispers to Kate. "Yea, but are you okay?" she asks worriedly. He smiles at her," Yes, why wouldn't I be?" "How many you say that? They just had a gun to your head!" She tells him.

"No they didn't." He replies confusedly.

Hey guys! I'm so sorry that this chapter isn't long, but to make up for it, next chapter will have why Kate and Dale ran away. 

Tomorrow I won't be uploading, sorry but I am getting very busy, but that is why I updated almost everyday this week!
