Hey! I hope you enjoy this book. This is the only chapter in the authors pov, then it goes to Clara and Luke. Sorry for any grammatical errors

Thats Lucy at the top

Clara is what you call a daydreamer, a star-gazer, an escapist. Not matter how hard she tried, she knew there were more interesting things to think about than to listen to her AP Geography teacher.

This particular day she started to daydream, but this time it felt different. It almost felt real. Clara sighed, knowing her daydreams would never come true. Unless her best friends could magically be raised from the dead. Her eyes started to tear up. Clara was used to it though, she knew how to suck it up and pretend like she had moved on.

"Clara!" Clara snapped out of her thoughts as she saw her friend Lucy snapping her fingers at her dramatically, attempting to grab her attention.

"Sorry," She said

"Daydreaming again?"

"Pretty much"

Lucy had been there when Clara found out Tanner, Sylvia, Kara, Matt and Luke died. Ever since then, Lucy and Clara were inseparable. It was rough. Clara tried to ignore the feeling she had and would push them away, trying not to think about her best friends. Most of her daydreams were about the fateful night that took their lives, or how her mom left her when she found out her dad was cheating on her. Things like that.

"So are you gonna go to the party?"

"Oh...um...no..not my scene"

"Ok....but James is going to be there!!"

James was the school's "pretty boy". Clara had told Lucy that she liked him just so she would get off her back. When in reality, Luke was the only one she could imagine herself with. The bell and and Clara quickly told Lucy that she had to go and sprinted home.

After Clara got home, she face-planted into her bed and cried for what seemed like days. She heard a knock at the door and her mom came in.

"Are you going to...." Her mom paused when she saw the state her poor daughter was in. No matter how much she tried, her mom had a hard time connecting with her daughter.

"N-no," said Clara. Thankfully her mom dropped it and left the room. Clara had to get out, so she decided to go running. It always helped her when she needed to clear her head. "Not About Angels" by Birdy came on. Clara had remembered taking that song off of her phone, because of the memories that it brought back. Clara couldn't take it, she started to head toward the cemetery unconsciously.

As she arrived at her boyfriend's grave, she lost it. She was crying like, well, a grieving friend. The memories still fresh in her mind came flooding in. The late nights with Sylvia and Kara; the irritating moments with her brother-like friends Tanner and Matt; being the awkward third wheel with Tanner and Kara; and when Luke asked Clara to be his girlfriend. But the one that stood out to her the most, was the late night on the fourth of July - the day they disappeared.

That day Clara had been on her way to meet her friends at a movie theater across town. As she started to leave the house, she felt something was going to happen, but shrugged it off. As she was driving down the street, something caught her eye.She was curious, but she didn't want to be late for the movie, so she kept going.

10 minutes....20 minutes passed until she finally got a call

"Kara where the heck are you!!"

"I...I..Can't"

"KARA!? Where are you? Are you ok?

"I love you"

And that was it. The police found them in an incinerated truck that night. Clara could have done something. She could have asked Kara if everything was ok, she could have told everyone to meet at her house, she could have told Luke she loved him one more time. That ate her away every day. She looked down at her boyfriend and best friends grave

"Why?!" She cried "Why am I stuck here all alone!? I... need you"

Tanner, Sylvia, Kara, Matt, and Luke were gone. It was a whole year later, and Clara still couldn't accept it. The bodies were too damaged to identify perfectly. It had to be a mistake. They were still alive, she knew it. Of course, people thought she was crazy because of that.

"Tell the world that we finally got it all right, I choose you" (Sara Bareilles ringtone)

Her phone pulled her away from her thoughts. Not even thinking about who the ringtone was assigned too, she answered

"Hello" It came out as more of a choke than anything else

"Clara.."

"Luke?..."

Then it all went black.
