Chapter 13: Date

Lilly walked up to a table in the middle of a large room.
Cory was standing next to the table with a lilac in his hand.

"Hey. I heard you like lilacs.... so I got you one."

"Wow, this is amazing. You really didn't have to go through all this trouble for me. I would've loved just a movie date..."

"No, no. Only the best for you. Might I add that you look amazing tonight."

Lilly was wearing a black dress that went a little below her knees. It was tight and she also had a pink belt on. Her shoes were pink flats with black flowers on them. She also had on a black headband witha pink flower on it.

"Thank you Cory, but I really don't look that great. Your the one who looks amazing."

Cory was wearing a suit. He had a white dress shirt under his suit jacket, he was also wearing a blue tie. His suit jacket and pants were black. He was wearing his usual black converse.

"Thank you Lilly. Your so kind. Now please, take a seat."

Cory pulled a chair out for Lilly. She walked over to him sat down and Cory pushed the chair back in. He then went to the other side of the table, and did the same thing with that chair but for himself. The two talked for a while. Then Cory asked,

"Would you like some me to get the food?"

"Yes please..." Lilly answered.

"Alright. I'll go get our plates."

Cory left the large and came back out with a man in a butlers outfit. Cory sat back down and told the man,

"Edward, this is Lilly. Tell her what we are having this fine evening."

"Well Lilly, today your having breaded chicken with a side of fruit salad. Hopefully you'll enjoy."

Lilly's face was bright. She loved breaded chicken, and fruit salads. Lilly said to the man now called Edward,

"Thank you!! I will enjoy, don't worry!!"

Cory smiled. He knew she was going to love this date, and that's just what she wanted.

"Let's dig in." Cory said.

Edward lifted the silver lids off their plates and Lilly expression was priceless. She was so happy to see her favorite meal in front of her. They finished eating and Lilly seemed stuffed. She looked up at Cory and smiled warmly. Cory reached for her hand and held it tightly.

"Thank you for saying yes."

"You don't have to thank me. I really like you. This is the first and best date I've ever been on."

"Lilly... I have a question."

"Sure, ask away.."

Cory got out of his chair, grabbed a small box from his pocket, and kneeled. He opened the box and spoke,

"Lilly, will you do me the honors and take this promise ring, promising to be my girlfriend through thick and thin?"

"I..... I.... I will."

Lilly's eyes were covered in tears. She was so happy that her first and only crush had finally asked her out. They had been on two dates before, making this their third. On every one of the dates she had the best time, and they were perfect. She wanted to ask him out herself, but then she thought that maybe he wasn't asking her out because he wasn't ready. Cory had always wanted Lilly, he just wanted the perfect moment to pop the question.

Cory got up and took the ring out of the box. It was a pink jewel in the middle of a rhombus made of silver. Lilly got closer to him as he put the ring on. Neither could expect what happened next.

Cory's POV

I don't know what I was thinking. She was so close to me and it seemed like the perfect moment. I just went for it, I kissed her. I don't k ow if she liked it or not. She seemed as surprised as I was, then she kissed me back. She leaned deeper into the kiss, and put her arms around my neck. It was more than just a kiss you give your mom. It was a full fledged kiss you give your true love. I loved it. I couldn't stop my hands from running from the top of her hip, to the bottom. She seemed to like that because she ran her fingers through my hair, begging for more. I removed my lips from hers and started kissing her neck. She giggled. I don't know why though.

Lilly's POV

He was such a good kisser. When his hand ran down my hips I got chills. I ran my fingers through his hair, trying to turn him on. He started kissing my neck, I giggled, it tickled. I pushed him away, I knew he was trying to turn me on, it worked, but I was just a few months away from 14 and did not want to have sex. Even if he was perfect. He looked confused. Obviously not knowing that he had gone to far.

Back to narrator POV

"What's wrong?" Cory asked

"Nothing, just...."

"Did I do something wrong?"

"I'm only 13. I don't wanna have sex."

"What?"

"You were kissing my neck, you were trying to turn my on right?"

"No, no. I just thought you liked it..."

"Oh I liked it alright. It just seemed like you were trying to get me in the mood."

"Never. I'm not a perv. I mean I would love to, but not right now."

"Your such a dork."

"Hey!"

"Don't worry, I love it."

"Really?"

"Yes. Now that I have told you what I love about you, you have to tell me what you love about me...."

"Your nerdy."

"Really? That's what you love about me?"

"Yea really. It's adorable."

"Aww. Your awesome."

"I love you Lilly."

"I..... I love you to Cory."

Lilly held Cory's hand as they walked out of the large room. Cory led Lilly outside to where her grandmother was waiting for her. Cory kissed her forhead and closed the door as she got in the car. He mouthed "I love you." from the outside of the window. Lilly did the same as her grandmother drove away.

"Sooo, tell me everything." Rhonda said as she drove down the road.

Lilly rolled her eyes. Rhonda always did this, everytime she got in the car after seeing Cory. Lilly told her grandmother everything, even the part about their kiss. Rhonda sqealed in happiness. Her granddaughter had finally got a boyfriend, and had her first kiss. Lilly got home and as she slept her dreams were filled with Cory. She was so content with herself, and even more content that she had kissed the love of her life.....
