My Knight of the Royal Guard (Papyrus x Reader)

Spaghetti

You turned your head away from the spaghetti on the table, staring down at the floor. It wasn't that you weren't hungry, it was just... You knew that the skeleton who made it wasn't exactly the best cook...The tall skeleton beamed down at you, watching your every move.

"GO ON (Y/N)! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, MADE THIS SPAGHETTI ESPECIALLY FOR YOU!"

Sighing, you turned to face the food and took some on your fork. Papyrus watched in anticipation, staring at your every move. Your eyes lit up as you put the pasta in your mouth. 'It's actually really good this time...' You think to yourself as you shovel the spaghetti into your mouth.

"WELL? HOW IS IT HUMAN?!" He asked you as he moved closer to your face. You blushed a bit, even though you knew he was doing it because he was excited. Although recently, whenever Papyrus got close to you, or even if you heard anyone mention him, your cheeks became warm and your heart raced. You refused to believe you had a growing crush on him though. I mean, a skeleton and a human together? There was no chance, right?

Papyrus was still staring at you,waiting for your response.

"O-Oh! It was amazing Papyrus!" You smiled as you finished the meal.

"I'M GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT, HUMAN! ITS A NEW RECIPE!" He beamed proudly as he took your plate away and put it in the sink. 'A new recipe?' Part of you wished he'd tried it just for you, but you knew that was just your fantasy. You mentally kicked yourself for thinking like that. There was no chance he liked you, right? After all, he seemed to like Mettaton a lot more than you... And you swore you'd even caught him blushing when you were watching Mettaton's show together. You stood up and dusted your skirt off. You wouldn't usually dress up like this until Papyrus called and asked you to try his spaghetti. By this point, Papyrus had finished washing the plate. You hesitated, and stood beside him.

"So... What should we do now?" You glanced up at him. He was a lot taller than you, and he made you feel very small.

"ITS UP TO YOU HUMAN! THE GREAT PAPYRUS DOESN'T MIND!"

"Why don't we watch a movie..? I brought my favourite one over with me."

"BRILLIANT IDEA! LETS GO THEN!" Papyrus grabbed your small hand in his large one, and pulled you into the living room and onto the couch. You grabbed your bag, which you'd left beside the couch, and grabbed the movie. You put the movie in the player and settled down as it began.

About halfway through, you were absorbed into the film. So far there was a lot of badass fighting, and finally the scene had calmed down a bit. You were enjoying it, but Papyrus seemed to be bored.

"IS THIS IT? HUMAN MOVIES ARE SO BORING! I COULD DO BETTER THAN THAT!" He whined.

"Oh really Paps~?" You smirked and glanced at him.

"OF COURSE I COULD! AFTER ALL, I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS!" He stood up and posed as heroically as he could. You giggled and covered your face. By this point, the movie was being ignored entirely. Although that wasn't exactly a bad thing; the movie was showing the rather rough kissing scene between the two main characters. You glanced over and your face burned. Papyrus was too busy posing to realise. 'Paps said he can do all this much better...' You blushed and covered your face with your hands.

"IS EVERYTHING OKAY HUMAN?" You felt a hand on your head and you looked up a bit. Papyrus looked slightly worried. "YOU'RE VERY RED... ARE YOU SICK?" He put a hand on your forehead as you smiled hesitantly.

"I'm fine Paps~ Really~" You took his hands gently and tried your best to stay calm. You glanced at the clock. "Hey... It's getting late.. Maybe I should go.." You scratched the back of your neck.

"DANG. THAT'S A SHAME. SHOULD I WALK YOU HOME?"

"I-its okay! I'll be fine!" Truth is, you wanted him to come, but you didn't want to bother him. Your face burned brighter (if that was possible) and you were sure Papyrus would be able to figure it out. You mentally slapped yourself, why were you acting like this? You didn't have a crush on him, right?!

"WELL BE SAFE, OKAY (Y/N)? I DON'T WANT YOU GETTING HURT..." He smiled at you as you walked towards the door.

"Of course Paps~ Goodnight!"

"GOODNIGHT (Y/N)!"

You began walking to your house, which was situated in Waterfall. You smiled softly as you thought about your time with Papyrus today. You couldn't have a crush on him, right? But he was so sweet, and such a big softie. He was so determined to make friends and become popular, and you felt bad for him when he tried so hard, but had a bad habit of scaring people away. But he would never like you the way you liked him. He was much better with someone like Mettaton or Undyne. You reached your small house and immediately went to your bedroom. It was small and simple, but enough for the one person who lived there. You easily fell into a peaceful sleep as soon as you hit the bed.
