~Jay's P.O.V.~

I was at my desk thinking about the case when Erin walked up

"Hey Jay. You got a visitor downstairs"

I looked at her and nodded as I stood up. I began to walked downstairs but didn't question who it was because I was thinking too much about the case. Once I made it downstairs I noticed it was Alison. Her hair was down and it was naturally, beautifully straight. She slightly smiled and that smiled just made my heart flutter

"Hey" I said

"Hey, can we talk?" She asked

I nodded "Yea come on let's go outside"

We walked outside and the cool air hit us. It didn't feel cold because the sun was out

"What's going on are you okay?" I asked

"Yea. I just want to make sure you don't hate me, because of what happened at Molly's"

I shook my head "I don't hate you. This bust that we did I didn't want to involve you because it's something even more dangerous"

"You forget I used to work the CPD"

I chuckled "Right"

"But that's not exactly why I came here"

I looked at her. She took a deep breath "I uh. I know your engaged. But I figured out something a long time ago" She said as she leaned up against the wall with her hands in her jacket pockets

"Figured out what?"

"Uh" She paused. I could tell she was nervous. But hell. I will just say it first. I knew what she was going to say

"That night at Molly's me and Cindy got into an argument outside. But she made me realize something myself"

"Realize?" She looked up at me

"Realize that I could never stop thinking about you. Even when I am engaged with her I always tried to deny it in my mind. But every since that night I didn't deny it to myself anymore. And I'm not gonna deny it any longer" I grabbed the side of her face with my hand "I'm in love with you Alison Severide" I said looking at her eyes then her face

She let out a small chuckle "That's what I was going to tell you. I'm in love with you Jay Halstead"

I slowly leaned in and at that moment I felt everything stood still. Our lips touched and I could feel the sudden electricity spread throughout my body. I didn't pull away and neither did she. Until after a couple seconds she did.

"We can't do this"

"Why not?" I asked

"Are you forgetting a certain person your engaged to named Cindy"

"But I'm not in love with her. I'm in love with you"

"How can you be engaged to someone your not in love with"

"Because I realized it only a couple days ago. What I truly want. And I want you"

She smiled and nodded "Same here" I looked at her and she continued to smile "But how are you going to tell Cindy?"

"I will tell her. Tonight"

"Are you sure?" She asked

I nodded "Tonight"

"But we can't be together now. We have to wait because everyone is gonna know you dumped her for me"

"So. I have nothing to be ashamed of" I said smiling

"Neither do I. But let's wait. Atleast a little bit"

I nodded "Okay. Tonight"

She nodded "Tonight"

"Okay" I quickly pecked her lips and walked back inside

I smiled as I walked upstairs with a big smile on my face. I walked to my desk and sat down

"So what did Alison say?" Erin said as she sat on the side of my desk

"Well.. let's just say everything is as good as it can be" I flashed a big smile

But she knew exactly what I was talking about "Jay Halstead you did not"

"I did. I confessed to her"

"But your engaged to Cindy"

"I realized what I truly want. And I'm truly in love with Alison. I always have been I just kept denying it until now"

She smiled and nodded "Okay. No judgment there. But good for you Jay. Now the hard part is telling Cindy" She stood up and grabbed her bag as she walked out

Shit. She's right. Everyone had already left but Voight. I grabbed my bag and took off as well. That night Cindy was in the kitchen and I walked in

"Hey. How was work?" She exclaimed. She looked happy

Great. Can she make this any harder?

"Cindy. We need to talk"

"About what?" She asked

"Listen. People change. Feelings change. And you don't realize it till later"

"What are you saying?" She asked

"Cindy" I took a deep breath "It's over"

Her eyes plunged out of her head "What?! Why?!"

"This just didn't work out. I'm sorry"

"It's her isn't it. That little slut Alison"

"No its not Cindy" I said trying to comfort her as I took a step foward

"No! Your gonna regret this" She scowled as she ran out and slammed the door behind her

"Well that went well" I said to myself
