Chapter 3-DA's Reunion

~Neville’s POV~

I stood my ground, meeting her gaze with my own that I knew amongst the bravery was swimming with fear. I saw her knuckles go white from gripping her wand tightly. I glanced at it cautiously while trying to figure anyway to escape; I looked around the large auction room. There were hooded death eaters posted at every visible exit, along with many around the stage. I couldn’t get past them and every pure-blood here; even with a wand it would be impossible. No I would have to wait and plan my escape.

I looked back up at Lestrange as she aimed a hard kick to my gut. Letting out a low groan I rolled over. “Bitch” I growled trying to stand. She raised her wand and I expected the cruciatous curse, but a silver chain materialised around my neck. It was a bloody collar! The horridness of it all, I wasn’t an animal.

I glared at her as she pulled at it dragging me down the stage with the strength I didn’t expect from her; she was tall yes, but frail and definitely not as tall as me. Maybe I could take her once we were alone? She has a wand though, I thought bitterly.  

Pulling against her as much as I could I looked back at the 6 other slaves standing in a row, three were standing with their knees almost giving way from fear. Two girls were standing tall and Ginny who was the next to be sold, stood proudly on the stage, her head was high and she was scowling at every single person in the crowd. I knew she would put up a hell of a fight even as the death eater cashmere went to grab her; I laughed as she struck out and hit him hard in the balls with her foot. “Go Ginny! Don’t stop fighting! DUMBLEDOORE’S ARMY!”I yelled loudly causing a cheer from her and the two brave girls; it was Cho Chang and Katie Bell.

Lestrange hissed at me and pulled me roughly down the steps of the stage, the chain around my neck tightened and I clawed at it trying to get it off. My face even though splattered with dirt and blood was definitely going blue. Lestrange turned but just laughed, loudly and harshly. The last thing I heard was Ginny yelling, Cho screaming and many voices laughing and jeering names. Then everything went black.
