TAYLOR POV

The last 13 hours had been hellish. It all started early yesterday morning. I had laid out the kids clothes ready for school, including their sports stuff for Friday after-school soccer, the night before and had taken a relaxing bath after a very long few days at work.

I was woken up at 3am this morning by Lia poking me in the side.

"Mommy I don't feel good." She whispered to me as I opened my eyes and focused on her small figure next to my bed.

"Yeah sweetie..." I replied quietly, placing my hand on her forehead and feeling it was quite warm.

Immediately I went into sick mode. When one of them got a bug the other was close behind, and a stomach bug had been going around at school recently. They always say that elementary schools are basically breeding grounds for bugs but I hadn't believed anyone until the twins were actually in school and got a bad cold or stomach bug every 2 months or so.

"Do you feel sick to your stomach?" I asked her, sitting up in bed and turning on my bedside lamp.

Lia nodded and I could see little tears pooling in the corners of her eyes. Suddenly her eyes went wide and I picked her up and rushed into the bathroom, placing her in front of the toilet just in time for her to be sick. That lead to her crying more. I knelt behind her, holding her hair out of the way and putting it in a ponytail, while rubbing her back.

"Feel any better?" I asked, as she slumped back onto my knees. She nodded a little and I picked her up, seating her on the counter next to the sink and grabbing a washcloth. "I'm going to put you in my bed for a bit while I got get some towels, bowls, and check on James.... okay?"

"umm hmmm..." She replied sleepily as I wiped her face with the cold washcloth.

As soon as she was in bed, covered by a towel from the bathroom and with my little plastic trashcan next to her, I left the room to collect supplies from around the house and check on James.

"Hey buddy.... Are you okay?" I asked quietly as I peeked into the twins' room to find James sitting on his bed.

"Where's Lia?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

"She's in mommy's bed because she's sick.... Are you feeling okay?" I asked him as I saw him take a deep breath and swallow nothing.

He shook his head a little and I went over to him. He was also feeling a little warm.

"Okay.... I guess it's a Swift family sick day today." I told him, lifting him onto my hip and walking back to my room.

As soon as I put him down his face paled and I placed a bowl under his chin as he was sick and crying at the same time. This woke up Lia who had fallen asleep briefly.

"Mommy.... I don't like this!" Jay cried out when he had finished being sick and I had taken the bowl to rinse out in the bathroom.

"I know, my babies, I don't like it either.... Just try to sleep a little bit, okay? I will be on that chair right there the whole time." I told them both, pointing to the glider chair I had had in my room ever since they were babies.

The calm and sleep was short lived as both of them were awake again 2 hours later being sick again, and unfortunately completely missing their bowls and getting it on themselves and the towels I had placed all around them to protect the bed.

"Okay.... Bath time for both of you." I announced, realising there was no way I was going to get into work or they were going to school. "And then we can read a story or something..."
