ADAM POV
I got up the courage to just do it. Do what I'd wanted to for nearly 2 weeks, and even more so since Tuesday.
"Um... Tay.... I kind of wanted to talk to you..." I told her hesitantly.
"Yeah? About what?" She replied, not looking up and not noticing as I moved closer to her.
"About, well us..." I replied, placing my fingers gently under her chin to lift her head up slightly so she was looking at me. I heard her take a quick but shaky breath.
"Yeah..." She said quietly, staring at me.
"Yeah..." I replied, smirking slightly and bending my neck a little to capture her lips on mine.
I could feel her whole body sink into me and we both eagerly deepened the kiss. I bent down slightly and lifted her up so she was sitting on the edge of the counter. We only broke apart when oxygen became a necessity.
"Wow..." She said dreamily.
"Yeah..." I replied, not able to form a sentence in my brain.
"That was...... wow." She said, smiling at me.
"Incredible? Awesome? The best kiss you've ever had?" I said, slightly teasingly as I watched the corners of her lips turn upwards and her arms go around my neck casually.
"Basically..." She replied, leaning over and giving me a quick kiss.
We just stared into each other's eyes lazily until we heard the sound of plastic hitting the tile floor and looked up to see a periscope on the floor at the edge of the kitchen counter.
"Oops...." We heard a small voice say. It was Jay.
"You're so clumsy!" Lia said back, slightly louder.
"Ahem!" Taylor coughed, "Little monsters please reveal yourselves!" She said, sliding off the counter and leaning against me instead.
The two of them walked out from around the side of the counter looking straight at their toes.
"What are you doing off the sofa? Sick days are rest days remember?" She said, sounding authoritative but I could tell she was trying to hide a smile.
"It was Lia's idea." Jay said quickly.
"Rat!" Lia hissed to her brother. "We just wanted to have some fun...." She continued to us, looking up with puppy dog eyes.
"Alright... well back to the sofa or your awesome daddy won't make you chicken noodle soup!" Taylor said, squeezing my hand gently and winking at me.
They quickly scurried back to the living room, obviously feeling better enough.
"Well I better get the soup on..." I said, smiling at her.
"And I better make sure they don't go on any other adventures.... Call me if you need anything...." She said, giving me a kiss on the cheek as she followed the kids out.
"Sure thing." I replied.
"And Adam?" She said, poking her head back in.
"Yeah?" I replied, looking up at her and smiling.
"Thanks for, you know, everything." She said, smiling back at me and disappearing down the hall.
TAYLOR POV
The atmosphere in the living room was weird. The movie was still playing but the kids weren't watching it. They were sitting right next to each other in the corner of the sofa and kept whispering in each other's ears.
