LIA POV

As soon as mommy and Adam left the table I snuck out of the booth to watch them.

"Jay, come on.... You have to help me spy!" I told him, making him slide out of the booth as well and follow me as we ducked behind a chair.

We watched Mommy and Adam hug and then start talking as Adam got her a drink.

"Hey kids! Where are your mom and da-... I mean Adam?" Charlie asked us.

I stared at him.... Why did he start saying dad? Wait.... Was Adam? No....

"Adam is with mommy getting a drink, why?" Jay asked him as we went back to the booth.

"I was just wondering where our top chef had disappeared to... of course he's chasing the pretty girl! You kids are lucky your mom and dad are so good looking!" Charlie said, distractedly looking over at the bar area and smirking slightly.

"WHAT!" I screamed extremely loudly at Charlie, obviously shocking him and causing mommy and Adam to run over to me.

TAYLOR POV

I looked at Lia and Jay trying to figure out if it was a happy or angry scream. With Jay I could always tell, ever since he was a baby, but Lia is harder to read.

Her eyes were wide as if she was shocked by something and Jay was looking very pensive.

"Um, what's going on Charlie?" Adam asked the brown haired man, who I now knew to be Charlie.

"Please don't kill me...." Charlie said looking at us both with panic and fear in his eyes.

"What did you do?" I asked gently, not sure why we would be thinking of killing him, he seemed nice.

"ADAM IS OUR DAD?" Lia shouted loudly, making me cringe slightly and Charlie shy away from us.

I looked up at Adam briefly and he looked like he was fuming as he glared at Charlie.

"Um.... You deal with your friend and I will talk to these two.... Give us about 5 minutes?" I told Adam quietly.

He nodded and pointed at Charlie and then at the kitchen, leading the Charlie going in followed by Adam.

"So... Charlie said something to you?" I asked them both, sitting down and facing them in the booth.

"Is Adam really our daddy?" Jay asked while Lia just glared at me.

"Well, yes .... Yes, he is." I told them, deciding now was not the time to sugar-coat anything.

"Why didn't we know?" Lia asked, pouting.

"Well...um.... I hadn't seen him for 6 years and had no way of calling him....and then I wanted you guys to get to know him first.... But we were going to tell you this weekend." I explained to them, "I'm really sorry darlings... I should've told you last week...."

"Do I have to call him daddy?" Jay asked me, tilting his head slightly.

"I'm sure he won't mind what you call him, sweetie. You can call him daddy or just Adam." I told him, to which he smiled.

My darling little boy was always easier to talk to than his sister.

"Hmmm..." Lia mumbled with her arms crossed over her chest, "I guess he can stay. He's nicer than my friend's dad."

"Okay... so we are all sorted?" I asked them. They both smiled and went back to their colouring.

The restaurant was now opening and people were coming in for dinner so I was glad to have sorted everything out.
