Life is just a masquerade
We wear a mask only the people see
We hide ourselves, our identities.
Behind the curtains of a mask

What we see. Whomsoever do we meet.
Harlequins, Soldiers, Fools,
Heroes, known for mighty deeds
Villains, Monsters. Slaves,
trampled under the master's feet.
Slaves to lies, the lie they wear.

But beneath it all, beneath the mask.
Beneath the costume within your grasp.
The man, the woman, the child.
The person none will meet.
The face only seen in private.

Many refuse to drop the mask they wear
Refuse to show the face they bear
Remember who you truly are.
The mask is a mask, a lie
The face you hide, a truth.

Ever deny the lies you're told.
Never deny the truth you hold.
Never shun freedom's key
Ever deny the shackles hold.
