The Docks (a Once Upon A Time Fan Fiction)

Chapter 10

Corey stood at the edge of the docks with a small pouch full of change. It wasn't much but she hoped it would just enough to buy her father a present. She pulled the hood of her cloak up further, so that it hid her face. Her father had taught her to be careful because bad things could happen to a girl alone in the dark. No matter how skilled she was with a sword. She knew the procedure with barters like this. She had to make her voice deep and keep her face covered. She glanced up just in time to see a cloaked figure come into the light of the torch near by. Her right hand gripped the hilt of the sword just in case the person decided to try anything.

"Do you have the ring?" She asked in a voice to manly to belong to a thirteen year old girl. The cloaked figure in front of her held out its hand to show her the ring. She smiled it was indeed the ring she wanted to buy. She exchanged the money for the ring. The figure opened the small pouch she had handed him to ensure the correct amount of money was there before slinking back into the shadows. Corey listened carefully making sure the figure was gone before heading back toward the ship. She climbed the small rope ladder from the dock to the deck of the ship. Although it was pitch black out she could still find her way around the ship noiselessly. As she went to open the door that led inside she heard a voice behind her. She pulled her sword out of her sheath and whipped around. But she didn't find an intruder she just found Smee, her fathers first mate.

"Smee!!" She hissed as she pulled her hood off of her head. A look of relief crossed his face.

"Your mother heard you sneak out. She assumed you were getting your fathers present but She told me to make sure you were safe." Smee stuttered.

" I'm fine. Thank you." She said before opening the door. She crept down the hall to her room making sure to be extra careful as she walked by her parents room. But as she approached her room she saw a light coming from underneath her door. Her father also must have heard her sneak out. She knew there was no way to avoid punishment she opened her door.

But it was only her mother who sat at her desk. Corey closed her bedroom door behind her. As it clicked her Mother stood up an Turned around.

"So what did you get him?" Was the first thing out of her Mom's mouth. A smile crossed Corey's face. Her mom stood excitedly over Corey as Corey reached into her pocket and pulled out the small pouch containing the ring. She pulled the ring out and held it in the palm of her hand for her mom to see.

The next day Corey stood outside the door to her fathers office with a small red velvet pouch. Most of the crew failed to remember that it was her Fathers birthday but not her. As she stood out side the door she heard her parents talking about going back somewhere to get someone but honestly she was too excited to even think about what they were saying. Then finally after what felt like forever the door finally opened. Her father stood in the doorway with her mother behind him. He motioned for her to come in.

"How's my little pirate?" He asked. As he messed up Corey's short choppy hair. She smiled as she turned to face him.

" Happy Birthday!!!" She shouted as she held out the small pouch. A look of surprise crossed his face but it was quickly replaced with a smile.

"Aww love, you remembered" he said as he took the small pouch from her hand. She glanced nervously as he opened it. She wondered if he would like it. Hours ago she was definite he would but now she wasn't so sure. He pulled the ring out of the pouch. He gazed at the ring for what felt like forever. But finally he looked up

"Thank you, love" he said. Then he put the ring on his left hand before giving Corey a big hug. After hugging Corey he gestured for her mother, Milah, to join in the hug. Corey felt happy. Truly happy. She stood there sandwiched between her parents and she had never been happier in her life.

Suddenly Corey was staring at the ceiling. She saw Snow, David, And Henry standing over her. Her eyesight was blurry. Then she saw a fourth figure. He must be the one that owns the shop she thought to herself. Corey's eyesight started to come back into focus. She sat up and leaned against a glass case. She looked at David and Snow's faces they looked worried and concerned.

"Are you all right?" Henry asked curiously.

"Uhh what? Oh yeah I'm fine." Corey said. Even though she didn't feel fine. She felt like she had the worst case of seasickness a pirate ever had.

"What happened?" Corey mumbled as she rubbed the back of her head.

"You fainted sweetie." Snow said as she brushed the hair out of Corey's face.

" How long was I out?"

"Almost 5 minutes" Snow said as she handed Corey a glass of water. "Do you remember anything?" Corey thought intently then the memories came back one by one. Finally she remembered what cause the flash back.

" Th-the ring. Where did you get that? Whose hand is that" Corey demanded with startling power as she turned to look at the shop owner.

"Oh dearie, I think we both know whose hand that is. By the way my name is Mr. Gold but you probably know me as-"

" Rumpelstiltskin!" Corey shouted as she cut Mr. Gold off. Now it made sense! Rumpelstiltskin was the man who killed her mother and took her fathers hand. He must've kept her fathers hand as a trophy. And her fathers hand still had the ring she gave him on it.

Rumpelstiltskin laughed

"So you know me!"

"That's my fathers hand!" Corey said as she stood up. "Your the one who cut his hand off! Your the one who Killed my Mother right in front of my eyes" Corey fell into a crying heap on the floor. Snow, Henry, and David stood frozen by what had happened. David turned to Rumpelstiltskin

"She saw you kill her mother." He said horrified as he wrapped his arm around Snow who's eyes were about to overflow with tears. Snow bent down and helped Corey get up. Corey had a look of hatred on her face. She looked like she could rip rumplestilskins heart out then and there but she let herself get led out of the store by David but before she walked out the door she mumbled

"Coward" loud enough for Rumplestiltskin to hear and then she closed the door behind her.

I hoped you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!!! This may be my favorite chapter!! Sorry this update was sorta late. The chapter was finished but I was having issues so I couldn't post it. But oh we'll its posted now!!! Did you guys like the flashback? I was thinking about wether or not I should do more.
