Chapter - 23 Guilt ridden heart!

"Martha please, Do it fast. We have to reach college fast." I said panicking. "don't worry Priya we will reach on time." She said very peacefully. "how can you say that. It is already four in the evening and we haven't reached college yet. At least we aren't nearer to college." I said while fear started to consume me.

"okay fine. We will be there in just twenty minutes. Is that okay?" she asked irritation clearly in her voice.

"first do that," I said glaring at her.

"Whoa, stop. C'mon I will drive the car and we shall reach on time." Jai said interrupting our glaring competition.

This is the reason why I don't dare come out without saying to Abhay. If he finds out that I went shopping then surely he would kill me. but I want to be free. Shopping with Abhay makes me feel so inconvenient. He doesn't allow me to buy something my age girls wear. I am vexed up with his possessiveness. Previously he never used to care about me and now suddenly become an overprotective husband.

I was so lost in thoughts that I didn't realize that we are stuck in a traffic jam. "jai, what happened now?" I said with awe seeing that we are totally stuck in traffic. I can't even open the car door for fuck sake. I swore under my breath.

"how now?" I asked with trepidation. "oh nothing, we shall sit here and have fun watching the traffic clear," Martha said in a pure sarcastic tone.

"you do that and I am not going to," I said and started to open the car door furiously.

"stop, I was just kidding Priya. I didn't know you were such a serious person. Though I feel you as my best friend yet I know almost nothing about you." She said while resisting me from getting down. "we will take you home" she said while sensing my expression and said "college I mean, so don't worry darling. We will take care of the uncle of yours who you said will come to pick you up." she smiled.

"not uncle." I said in a low tone. "cousin" I implemented Abhay's idea over here.

Jai was observing our reactions and stayed silent waiting for the traffic to clear.

I lowered my head feeling bad about the things I said to Martha priorly. " Martha I am so sorry about what I said before," I said in a low tone.

"oh c'mon my dear. It's okay. You are my best friend remember." She said giving out a bright smile.

"thank you. But"I paused. "I need to say you many things. But I will say when the time is right." I said and started to stare out of the window completely neglecting that Abhay will be waiting out of my college and I have to face a lot of his anger today.

"Take your time sweetie, "she said and glanced at jai for a second. I neglected that interaction between them and started to stare at my mobile phone which even ditched me by being dead from the afternoon. I sighed remembering Abhay angry face and fear swept in my body.

I gathered all the strength present in my body and wanted to face Abhay strongly. It's already 5:45 pm and now traffic is slowly getting cleared. The engine roared on the clearing road and reached the college by 6:30 pm. My fear of approach has reached the maximum level. I stepped out of the car with tremor. His bloodshot scrutinizing angry eyes with a combination of furious expression on his face is the worst combination ever. The minute I reached him shuddering he pushed me into the passenger seat and took out immediately from college.

Jai's POV

I stood there silently looking at the furious person who pushed Priya into the car and took off immediately.

"jai?" Martha interrupted my thoughts.
