Chapter 10

____________Your POV_____________
After you were done running, you, along with Levi, Hanji, and both Squad Levi and Team Alpha, made your way towards an open area for the 'experiment', that was to be conducted.
You watched as Eren went into a well, as you stood next to Levi and Hanji.
After a few minutes, a flare was fired, giving the boy the signal to do whatever that was needed to do.
But, after a while, nothing happened.
This piqued your curiousity, as you followed Levi and Hanji to the well.
You peered down, and saw the boy continually biting his hand.
'Is that his trigger, self-harm?' You think, as you continued to watch the boy, but Hanji stopped him, as Levi scolds him for not transforming.
Everyone went on break, considering that the experiment was a bust.
But, as you and Levi were sitting at the table, a small explosion was caused behind you.
Your eyes widen a bit, as you turned, and saw that everyone from Squad Levi had their blades pointed at, what appeared to be, a giant arm, with Eren trying to pull his own hand out.
However, your squad didn't react as violently, they all stood on standby, as you took about two steps forward.
"How intriguing." You mutter to yourself, as you stepped even closer to the boy.
Everyone from Squad Levi was shouting at the poor kid, who seemed a bit panicked, while Levi was trying to get calm everyone down.
You let out a sigh, before shouting out, "Everyone, shut the fuck up!"
Everyone quited down, as they turned their attention towards you.
"Man, you guys are quite jumpy. Can't you see that your shouting is only panicking the damn kid. He had a mishap, but no one was hurt. So, it would really be helpful, if everyone just shut the fuck up, and back away!" You say, as you shout the last part.
You then proceeded to walk up to the kid.
"Oi, kid, you alright?" You asked, as you jumped up beside Eren.
"My hand's stuck." He mutters as he pulls again, but to no success.
"Alright, on three, pull, got it." You say, as you grabbed Eren's arm.
"One........two......thr-" Before you could finish, a loud yell was heard.
You looked up, and saw a drooling Hanji.
"Can I touch it, please!?" Hanji begs, and before Eren could reply, Hanji touched the large arm.
"Its hot!" She wails, as she slides down into her knees.
You sigh, as you pulled Eren's arm out, resulting in him landing harshly, as you land on your feet, causing Hanji to yell out, as she jumps around.
"Daichi!" You call out.
"Yes, captain!" He calls back, as he jogs up to you.
"Remember the first time you discovered your inhuman strenght?" You asked, smirking.
"Yeah, I got angry, and tried to throw a boulder at some dumbass that was trying to pick a fight with me, why do you ask?" He questions.
"Remember how you managed to control it?" You ask.
"Yeah, I - oh~, I see." Daichi says, finally understanding in what you want to do.
"Well kid, lets go." Daichi says, picking the kid up, and throwing him over his shoulder.
"Hey, wait, hold on!" Eren exclaims, as he begins to struggle.
"Tch, where the fuck is he taking him?" Levi growls out from next to you.
"Ah, right, well, the kid had a mishap, and from what I'm guessing here, he has absolutely no idea on how to control his abilities, and since Daichi is the only other person here, who has anything remotely close to inhuman abilities, its Daichi, given his inhuman strength. So, I ordered Daichi to train the kid in how to deal with these sorts of abilities." You explained.
"Tch, and what if Yeager is unstable? He'll be a danger to everyone here." Levi hisses.
"No, besides, even if the kid becomes a threat, Daichi can handle him." You say.
"Tch, I doubt it." Levi grumbles.
"Trust me, you don't want to see when Daichi is angry. When he snaps, all I can say is get the hell out of the way, because even I have a hard time putting Daichi down when he's pissed off." That was all you said, before walking towards the Mine.
"You trust him, don't you, captain?" The voice of Mine says.
"Oh~, where did this little hypothesis come from?" You ask, a glint of amusement pass by in your eyes.
"Well, for one, you wouldn't give information away so easily when you plan something out, and for another reason, you no longer have that pouch, you gave it to him, didn't you?" Mine says, pushing her glasses up with her middle finger.
You chuckle, as you say, "You caught me, yeah, I do trust him, but I have a reason to."
"And what's the reason?" Mine asks.
"We're two halves of the same coin. We are similar, yet different. It's kinda amusing actually." You say.
"Becuase you saw yourself in him when you first met him, that's why you went willingly with him. Just so you could join the scouting legion. Very clever, captain" Mine says.
"Yeah, you could say that, but I see it as making up for something as well." You say.
Mine gives, what looks like, an almost sad smile, as she says, "Yeah, which is why we follow you captain, your very soft hearted, even if you won't admit it."
"Soft hearted?" You scoffed.
"Soft hearted people wouldn't kill, Mine. I told you that before, besides, I didn't want the past repeating itself, and if I know better, Levi will go through the same experience I did back then, and I will prevent that." You say, as you stare at Levi, who was currently occupied with giving orders.
"Your too cunning, captain. So cunning that it gets hard to tell what your next move is, even if we knew each other for years." Mine says, giving a slight smile.
You chuckle, as you say, "Yeah, but its my job to be one step ahead of everything, right?"
"Yeah, but you seem a bit more relaxed now." Mine comments.
"Oh, do I now? Because, the way I see it, I find you guys more relaxed then me." You comment, looking at Mine from the corner of your eye.
"Maybe, but its nice, no more killing people, instead, we'll be saving them." Mine says, chuckling herself.
"Heh, yeah, can you believe it. The number one human killers, and now look at us. We'll finally be able to be ourselves. No longer do we have to be shackled down, instead, we took the first step to being free." You say, smiling.
You could feel Mine stare at you.
"What?" You ask.
She chuckles, as she says, "You've changed greatly, and I think I have a certain shortass to thank."
"Huh, what are you talking about? Levi has done nothing to change me." You say.
"True, he didn't change you, but he did bring out the childish side to you." Mine says.
"I have no clue what your on about." You say.
"Now, now, don't play dumb, you never hid in trees, let alone slept in them, you knew it would cause an uproar. You were playing a sort of hide-and-seek game." Mine says.
"No fun." You mutter, as Levi calls out to you and Mine to get on your horses, in order to leave.
You get on your horse, as you ride next to Levi.
"What were you talking to Mine about, brat?" Levi asks.
"Hm, nothing important, just wondering how her note taking with Hanji went." You say.
"Is that all, you looked like you were having the conversation of a lifetime." Levi comments, looking at you from the corner of his eye.
"Well, when it comes to Mine, she gets excited when she finds out new information." You say.
Levi looks at you curiously, before looking ahead.
You, however, were looking at Daichi smacking Eren upside the head, causing you and the rest of Team Alpha to chuckle.
"Well, that's a surprising sight." You mutter.
"What was that?" Levi asks.
"Nothing, nothing at all." You say, smiling, as you continue to watch Eren and Daichi's interactions.
'Just like father and son, I swear.' You think, as you smile as Eren rubs the back of his head.
The rest of the ride back to HQ was quiet and peaceful, but it was nice nonetheless.
