As you flipped through the magazines, you failed to notice the presence of your approaching boyfriend from the corner of the room. Seeing you engrossed in reading the weekly fashion magazine brought a smile to his face quickly as he quietly made his way to you, putting his stealth skills to good use. Before you realise it, he suddenly touched your shoulders. You jolted in shock at his touch and nearly dropped your book during the process. All of the sudden, he let a burst of laughter. Hearing the familiar voice, you swiftly twisted your head to his direction, a pout visible on your face.

"S-sorry." He tried to contain his laughter before pointing to the machine beside you, "But I couldn't help but notice the heart monitor. It suddenly went up when I touched you."

You puffed out your cheeks in agitation.

"Stupid Yuu, don't scare me! How can you treat a poor soul like this! You know I'm sick!" You whined and attempted to hit him but he interrupted you by pulling you into a hug and petting your head, apologizing with a sheepish smile. You let out a huffed before nuzzling your face into his chest, signalling that you've forgiven him. The both of you shared a pleasant silence for a few minutes before pulling away, face slightly tainted with red hues. Just then, you noticed the bouquet of flowers that he was holding as your eyes twinkled.

"Daisies?" He blinked in surprise and realised you were referring to his flowers before nodding. Walking to the side of your white bed, he placed the flowers into the vase, arranging it in such a neat manner with such delicacy. Observing him, your face relaxed into an admiration expression.

'Ikemen...!' The thought popped into your mind as you flushed again.

When he was done, a satisfied smile was presented on his face. He made his way back to the other side of your bed before grabbing the nearby chair to sit down. You closed the magazine that was in your hand and put it onto the nightstand.

"How's everything? Did the doctor say anything?" He doesn't waste a single second to question you, worries swirling in his golden brown iris.

"Yeah, he say I'll be fine in a day or two. My recovery is pretty fast too." You flashed a peace sign at him. He heaved a sigh of relief before ruffling your hair.

"Thank goodness, I'm so glad to hear you're fine. After all, I'd hate to see a pretty face like yours in the hospital all the time." He rest his face on his palm as he glanced at you with a pure modest smile. Your heart thumped faster seeing the sweet side of your partner as you reached out your hand and caressed his cheeks, his contagious smile making you do the same too. He seemed pleased at your touch as he relaxed into your palm, enjoying your soft and silky petite hand. Using his other hand, he extended it out and held your free one, touching and fumbling with it. The peaceful and tranquil atmosphere nearly luring you to sleep before he suddenly interrupted you.

"Still, I can't believe you would be that careless to run into your own bedroom wall..." You grew embarrassed in an instant, "Just what on earth were you doing?"

"N-nothing. Totally not because I was too tired in the morning from staying up and was not looking at where I was heading to. I promise not."

"..." His face was saying 'seriously?' as you tried to brush it off.

"D-d-don't mind the small details!" You protested, "By the way, Christmas is coming. What should we do?"

He pondered for awhile, his hand still holding yours.

"I suppose we can go eat at somewhere nice...Karaoke maybe?"

"I was thinking more of window shopping."

"You said that last time but you ended up buying so much."

"Teehee...?~" You grinned mischievously which he responded with another sigh.

"Let's just go watch the Christmas lights."

"And take a photo too." You added up.

"Alright, alright, whatever you want." He beamed at you before kissing the back of your hand. You giggled excitedly at his affection, face burning up. Just then, a nurse entered the room with a knock.

"Sorry to interrupt." She bowed politely, "But visiting hour will be over soon."

The both of you nodded in acknowledgement with a 'thank you' as she excused herself, getting back to her work. Isogai stood up and pat the dust off his pants before pushing the chair back to its original position. Clean and neat as always. After he was done, he made his way back to your bed and bent down to pull you into an embrace, which you returned lovingly. Pulling away after a few second, you tugged him down for a kiss, melting into his touch with joy. He held the back of your head with tenderness, as if he was treating a fragile diamond. To your unwillingness, he broke it off soon.

With a reddened cheeks, he gave another peck on your hair, inhaling your scent. You too, grew flustered at his actions before glancing away. He flashed another signature smile before standing up, ready to make his leave.

"I'll see you tomorrow, 10?"

"Okay," Your lips curved upwards, "I love you."

Despite the frequency the both of you say that, you still found it embarrassing and exciting, so did he. The blush spread like wildfire on his face as his mouth formed into a small 'o'. He nervously covered his face, trying to suppress the exaggerating crimson hue. To think that an Ikemen could get embarrassed in such a cute manner...Its perfection. Of course he didn't want to leave you hanging and responded quickly.

"I love you too. Bye bye."

One more sweet smile and he hastily made his way out of your room, the bright pink still refusing to cease. As you stared at his retreating back, the idea of meeting and talking to him again clouded your mind. A fits of giggles escaped your mouth as you eagerly snuggled into your white sheets, thrilled for tomorrow.

--

You woke up a little earlier than you planned, a bit too enthusiastic to fall back to sleep. Reaching for your phone, you read the time off the bright screen.

'8.00am.'

You quickly left your bed and headed to the bathroom that was at the side of your room. The cleanliness of the toilet was very impressive, things all lined up nicely and impeccably, sometimes you thought you were in a hotel rather than a hospital. After freshening up, you wiped your face with the provided towel before sliding back to your bed, patiently waiting for your boyfriend's arrival, unable to hold back your grin. Meanwhile, your doctor have also stopped by to give you checkup.

Footsteps kept passing by your room, most likely the staff or other patients. You were trembling with slight excitement as you pat your blanket, attempting to pass time. All of the sudden, his sweet voice could be heard from the outside of your room, signalling his arrival. You jumped a bit as you heard him talking to someone, who you assumed is one of the nurse from the high-pitched girly voice. Shuffling a little in your spot, you pulled the blanket up to your face, waiting for his entrance to your room.

However, the silence lingered for a bit too long than you've expected. Questions filled your brain as you gently set the blanket down, eyes glancing over at the ajar door. Why was he taking so long? You frowned at the long wait but you stayed quiet and patient, till you accidentally caught their conversation from the exteriors.

"That's your girlfriend?" The nurse's voice twisted with disgust as you felt your heart skipped a beat, "That's surprising for someone as gorgeous as you."

Despite of hitting your head, your brain still processed her words pretty quickly and you could instantly tell that not only did she just insulted you, she was also trying to flirt with your boyfriend. Your brows furrowed in annoyance, well, isn't she just the sweetest? You let out an irritated huff, wondering what's the next move. But when your boyfriend suddenly chuckled, you felt like time had paused for a long second. Your body froze for a bit as you sat in anticipation.

"That's awfully sweet of you." You could basically hear him smiling, "I think it's pretty surprising for someone like you too."

Those words poisoned you as you felt life being drained out of you by the seconds. You gripped the white blanket tightly as the sourness in your throat started to rise upward, obviously hinting that you wanted to cry. Your tears didn't want to save you your dignity either as it gradually welled up in your eyes, and here you are, fighting hard against both those sensation by biting hard on your lips, preventing the liquid to fall. With all your might, you sniffed and rubbed your face, getting rid of all evidences that could be seen as you slide down your bed and hid yourself in the blanket, facing away from the door. You didn't even care if you were going to suffocate inside there. Squeezing your eyes shut and clenching your fist hard, you felt your trust slowly shaking.

Soon enough, you picked up on the sound of your door opening as you tighten your grip. You heard him walking around the room before his footsteps finally halted at the side of your bed. Not knowing how to face him with anger still idling in your mind, you decided to pretend. Pretend to still be asleep. Yeah, at 10am, it's ridiculous but honestly your brain is so fried with rage you can't think properly anymore.

Unbeknown to you, seeing you wrapped up like a burrito was a pretty obvious sign that you didn't feel well. From his first glance, he could already tell you were either really sick or feeling unhappy. Well, if you were unwell, you would have most probably informed the doctor or the nurse, which means you were definitely troubled. This is weird, you were so lively, did something bad happened when he was away?

Without hesitation, he leaned over your bed and tried to pull the blanket away from you. Voice brimming with concern, he spoke.

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?"

Your heart jumped at his voice as your eyes flew opened in an instant, the heat rushing to your cheeks like a volcano eruption. Thank goodness the blanket was still attached or else he would have busted you instantly. With that little time you have left, you tried your best to compose yourself and quickly shut your eyes again before you feel the protective white layer being peeled off you.

Damn....No matter how many times, you still blush at that name.

Once the blanket was off, he noticed that your eyes were shut...a little bit too unnaturally. However, he believed that it was the work of your sickness and brushed it off. With that, he came to the conclusion that you were asleep. As you were 'sleeping', you felt his hand on your shoulder as he gently pulled you to face his direction. By now, your heartbeat was beating so fast, but you did a good job concealing it, like what you practiced during your class.

Seeing your 'asleep' face, he was suddenly drawn in. The way your head was a little tilted and resting on your shoulder due to the weight, your small strands of hair sliding your face as gravity does its work. Not to mention the most intriguing part, the way your soft and luscious-looking lips were left slightly opened, vulnerable and defenseless. He was so sure his mind was tainted with inappropriate thoughts for a second. The longer he stared, the more attached and captivated he grew. His eyes squinted as it trailed over your mouth as he felt his hand trembling. How ungentlemanly of him....

Maybe...just...for a bit is fine...right?

Through your closed eyes, you suddenly sensed the presence of his hand. It snaked around your neck before resting its grip, you felt a shiver down your spine at his touch. With a few more glance, his lips tugged upward as he pulled you in. Just like yesterday, your lips were connected together. However, the sensation and motive was completely different. Rather than a soft and innocent peek, this one gave off a ton more lustful and needy sentiment. Due to the fact that he thought you were asleep, you could painfully perceived that he was trying so hard to hold himself back. The heat was flaring up your cheeks at an insanely high rate, your heartbeat accelerating faster and faster. As the interaction lingered on, your brain was in a complete conflict whether to return it or not.

All of the sudden, he pulled away extremely abruptly. Since your sight was still blinded, you had no idea what just happened and why did he stopped (to your dismay). The apprehension and curiosity grew too strong as you pried one side of your eyes open, attempting to catch the situation.

He was looking off the side, his face was fully burned up and had reddened so much that even a tomato can't defeat him. His hand was slammed over his mouth as those golden irises were immeasurably wide open. He looked so agonizingly embarrassed that his two little hair antennas were standing straight up. You blinked a few times at the scene before your mind finally registered something.

Your heart monitor was still on.

This meant that those small little skips and accelerations were all recorded on the screen, entirely busting you and your fabricated lies of being asleep. He finally noticed that you were awake that he started to shake in shamefulness. Immersed in dilemma, he laid his head on the side of your bed while he tried to bury his head into his arms. Studying the sight before you, you were speechless.

"I-I-I-I didn't know you were.....!"

"I-it's okay, Yuuma!" You tried to convince him but to no avail as you found it as embarrassing for yourself.

"Ah...And after what I did....I-I-I-I'm so sorry...."

"Relax! It's fine!"

"But....But..." He doesn't seemed a single bit comforted by your words. You flushed red before holding his cheeks in your palm, making him stare right into your own (E/C) eyes. You kissed him once more, finally snapping him out of his own mess. He took a glimpse of your gaze that was swirling with determination and shyness, fighting with each other. He bit his lips anxiously before crawling closer to you and hugging you, burying his face into your stomach. Observing him, all the displeasure you gathered up earlier eventually evaporated and vanished as you sighed and ruffled his hair.

"Sorry..." You heard a mumble from him. The Ikemen side of him seemed to have gone into hiding as you giggled, giving his hair another peck. In spite of not fuming at him, you still got curious of what he said.

"Just now...I heard you talking to..." His ears perked at your words as he lifted his head up.

"Ah...Her. I said it was pretty surprising for someone like her to be single but,

after talking to her, it's only common sense why she would still be by herself."

He beamed at you mischievously before putting his finger on his lips, hinting that it was a secret before you two. Red hue spread on your face after you learnt that you were angry at him for such a small thing as you pouted, ashamed of yourself. You knew you shouldn't have doubted him.

"Were you pretending to sleep because you were angry at what I said?" He instantly hit the bullseye with a single sentence as you tried to protest and deny it.

"N-no! I wasn't jealous, I swear!" You puffed your cheeks out.

Seeing your adorable expression, he broke into a fits of laughter, you heaved another sigh again at his response, knowing well you couldn't fool him. After his laughter died down, he leaned over for another smooch which you gladly returned the affection. As the two of you pulled back, he pointed to the machine beside you.

"Even if you're not, your heart beat will always be honest with me."
