"W-w-wait. You mean, tomorrow...?" Your voice travelled to the other side of the line.
"Yeah. Is there a problem?" His voice seemed to twist with uncertainty.
"No! There's no problem at all!" You hurriedly replied, "It's just that...Ah..."
"..." The silence lingered as he waited patiently for you to speak.
"It's just that I'm so used to staying at home...It's so weird to be going out on weekends with someone that isn't my family."
"We will be family eventually anyway." You flushed red as you could practically hear him smirking over the phone, "Anyway, it's no big deal. If you want, we can make it as short as you want."
"No, it's fine! I guess...I would rather hang out longer if we're really hanging out."
You heard his soft chuckles, "I hope you are aware that this isn't just a friendly hang out. It's a date."
"I know! Stop reminding me or else I might just die of embarrassment..." You let out a sigh, unaware your face was bright red. He laughed for a moment,
"Alright. It's decided then. See you tomorrow."
"Likewise, see you." Your lips tugged upwards. This is usually the cue to end a call, however, you couldn't do so just yet.
For the longest time you've dated Karma, you've wanted to tell him so many things that you couldn't say as a friend. The list goes on and on, but the biggest thing you've ever wanted to say was 'I love you'. You couldn't even remember how you two are dating, did you really confess okay? In spite so, he had told you before that he was in love with your honesty. So at the very moment now, you're starting to feel guilty not actually being 'honest'.
'C'mon (F/N)...! Just say 'I love you' before he hangs up, it's not that hard! Couples do that, right? They say 'Love you' before they hang up, right? So there shouldn't be a problem!
....Who am I kidding!? It's so difficult!'
You gripped your bed sheets tightly as inner conflict swirled in your brain and heart, why is it so hard to say it!? But before you could even land on a decision, you heard a short beep on your hand phone, signalling the end of the call. You watched as the screen displayed 'Karma <3: Call ended' before you plopped right back on your cushiony bed, feeling extremely defeated. You huffed and stared at the ceiling, frustrated at yourself for failing once again. Suddenly, your mind drifted off into wonderland for a bit. What would actually happen if you did say it?
Images of the red-haired male blushing, smiling, or even saying the same thing back instantly flashed in your mind as you felt steam rushed out of your ears like a train taking off. Your hand flew out to grab your pillow before you stuffed your face into the soft cushion, concealing your intense embarrassment.
'Ah...That was so bad. Now I'm even more scared of saying it.' You mentally scolded yourself for that absolutely unnecessary imagination. With one more irritated sigh, you rolled yourself back onto your bed to get into a proper sleeping position, ready to turn the night in. Tossing the blanket over yourself, you curled into a ball as you attempted to sleep.
Hopefully tomorrow comes faster.

The tapping sound could be heard as you typed a message into your phone, sending it over to your friends. They were currently chatting about some crush that one of your close friend had on your fellow classmates as the rest continued to tease them with no mercy. Obviously, that close friend was currently regretting and having the worst time of their life as the rest created 'ship name' for them. You stared down at the chat group and giggled, amused at their conversation. Not wanting to feel left out, you quickly punched in a reply.
'I can see it happening. I'm sure it's going to be cute <3 you should totally ask him out!'
A few more replies came in with others agreeing to what you've just said.
'Well yeah...but it's not that easy you know. Unlike us, you're having your time of your life with that Karma-kun. >:I'
You felt your heart skipped in giddiness.
'Oh please, I have my fair share of how it feels like. If you want to be like me, just go for it!'
'//Sigh I guess you're right. Thanks.'
Looking at the reply, you smiled in contentment, glad to see they've made a decision for themselves. Just then, a voice interrupted you.
"Excuse me, where's the closest hospital from here?"
Your head lifted in seconds at the voice to come face to face with your beloved Karma, smiling from ear to ear. You grinned at him and he returned the gesture too before you went over and hugged him, a bit awkwardly. He spared no time to respond to the hug as the two of you pulled away.
"Hey, I missed you." You smiled once more before your face morphed into one of confusion, "Why did you ask for the hospital?"
"Because you were smiling by yourself, I thought you were crazy." He smirked mischievously.
"Wow." You rolled your eyes.
"I'm joking. It's because I might die of a heart attack seeing your smile."
You blinked a few times before bursting out in laughter. "I hope you're not pulling my leg! But aw, it was still awfully sweet of you."
"You would never know. But still, you're welcome~" He sang as he reached his hand out towards you, which you immediately held in your own.
"Where should we go first?"
"Hmm...I'm sure we can go for a movie."
"The superhero ones?"
"Usually I would have said yes, but nothing wrong with giving a try to something else if you're around."
"When did you learn to sweet talk so much?"
"As an assassin, I can't just expose every single blade I have."
You responded with another sweet laugh as you observed him. He was smiling, a small tint of blush tainted his cheeks so slightly that it was barely visible to the naked eye. You could tell that it wasn't the fabricated smile that he used to wear last time, the one that gave off a sense of danger, one that emitted an immense amount of evil intentions, one that seemed to act as his façade. This time, it was pure and genuine, it was filled with joy and glee that couldn't be expressed solely on words. It was one that you've always wanted to see, and you were glad beyond the world knowing that he was showing this smile to you.
Karma noticed your stare after a few minutes as the heat gradually increased on his face. Maintaining his composure, he coughed.
"What are you looking at? See something you like?"
"Yeah. You."
You blurted out without a single thought before the both of you halted suddenly. Your hand shot up in an instant as you touched your mouth, slightly shocked that you said that to him. He stared at you with a completely blank look when all of the sudden, he shifted his view 180 degree, looking off into the other direction. You watched as he shook, covering his face with his palm. From your view, you could spot the crimson red that spread to his ears. A slight 'pft' escaped your mouth as you glanced away, letting him have some time out. After all, he doesn't like to be tease a lot. Soon enough, he had calmed down enough to face you again, despite so, you could still see him hesitating a bit.
After sometime, the two of you finally made it to the cinema. You spent a few minutes deciding what to watch and what to buy as snacks. Afterwards when you're done, you walked into the theatre, ready to enjoy an hour long of movie time.
During the movie, you were both quietly watching it with intensity. In contrast, you two still held hand. Karma was fumbling and playing with your fingers as he watched, as if a kid dying to touch something when they're forced to sit down without moving around. Time flew past quickly and soon, the show had come to an end and you made your way out.
"Ah, that was awesome! I really liked the part when Daisy and Alex worked together."
"I liked the villain, and when he tortured Kyle."
You felt a sweat dropped listening to Karma and he proceeded to respond with a sinister grin.
Just then, a loud pouring noises sounded from outside of the cinema as you and Karma exchanged looks. This could only mean one thing, doesn't it?
Both of you made your way out, and looking through the glass door, you have already grasped the situation. It was raining cats and dogs. The both of you sighed simultaneously in disappointment, no matter how you think about it, walking through a pouring rain might be one of the worst thing ever. Your feet get washed with dirty mud water, the rain drop splattered all over the place and stick on your legs, your clothes get drenched and smelled bad. Seeing how well dressed you and Karma were, neither of you probably want to step out in the terrible weather. Now, your date is completely ruined.
"What should we do, Karma?"
"We can't leave the cinema at this rate, suppose we just got to sit down and wait then."
Your lip stretched into a thin line in dissatisfaction as you pondered how long it will take for this heavy rain to cease before walking towards to the sofa that decorated the lobby, taking a seat. Karma followed after your lead and sat down beside as you scrunched over, putting your elbow on your thighs and resting your head on your palm. Exhaustion and boredom was clearly written all over your face. Similarly, Karma was resting his head on his shoulder, a stoic expression decorated his face. The only thing that could be heard between the both of you was the pitter-patter of the rain drops.
After what seemed like an eternity, the rain didn't look like it ceased a single bit at all. As you stared at the liquid rushing down through the clear window, your mind started to wonder off into imagination land. You stared and stared, not realising the hand that was slowly snaking around your neck until the warmth finally contacted your skin. You flinched slightly and swiftly turned your head, coming face to face with your boyfriend, who seemed a little embarrassed and dubious of his action. Still, he did his best to conceal it and looked you right into your irises with a smug grin. You blinked a few times to register his affectionate before breaking out into a big sweet grin. Without saying much, you snuggled closer to him and rested your head on his shoulder as you enjoyed the glow that he emitted, your cheeks tinted with blush. Just as you were drowning yourself in the moment, your mind decided to take for a change.
"Say..."
"Hm?" He hummed in response to your word.
"What does Karma like about me?"
"Your looks."
"...Stop."
"Alright then, I'll stop."
"No wait! I mean, tell me the reason!"
"I just did."
"No, not that. Something that's actually true."
"What do you mean? I do like your looks, and your body too."
Your face flared red in an instant.
"N-no! Ugh...! Something not physical, how about that?"
Karma chuckled at your reply and your currently puffed out cheeks.
"I did tell you before, didn't I? I like your honesty."
At that moment, all the memories about your thoughts last night flashed through your brain like a bullet train as you felt your heart skipped a beat. You're not really honest...right? You can't even say 'I love you'! That's not being honest with your feelings! Does that mean if you tell him the truth, he wouldn't like you anymore? Oh no, this is so bad! B-but, you can't possibly lie to him, oh gosh. There is no way out of this!
You panicked silently as you felt yourself being cornered by his words.
"I-is that all?" You stuttered to your absolute dismay.
"I wonder?"
"Karma..." You barely whispered out his name as the guilt of holding back your feelings got to you, "I have to tell you something."
"Yeah?"
"I-I'm...I'm not an honest person at all!" You bellowed at the top of your lungs, but luckily was hurriedly drowned out by the pouring rain. Karma glimpsed at you as you saw his golden eyes swirled with extreme confusion and lost. Thinking about whatever you were going to say next, your whole face was already setting on fire.
"I mean...I can't...I'm not....actually a....honest person...! I swear!
Even so, I still have to tell you this no matter what!"
Karma seemed to quiet down for a moment, he was feeling anxious. You bit on lips with utmost nervousness as you fiddled with your finger for a bit before mustering enough courage to spill the feelings out of your mouth.
"You know...we called over the phone yesterday right?"
"Yeah."
"The thing is, there was something I didn't say before I hung up."
"...?"
Shutting your eyes tightly, you braced yourself for any consequence.
"I didn't say...I love you! I know couples usually say that, but here we are dating, and I can't even say it. It's not that I don't like you but- I mean- I really do like you a ton, I do! It's just- saying it and all...I'm sorry! I wasn't being very honest with you..."
With your sight blinded, you were obviously unaware of the scene that was unfolding before you. You couldn't see him with a face that had blew up in complete crimson red that spread throughout his entire face without leaving a single spot unattended. You couldn't see that he had fully tensed up and that he was slowly melting inside by your overly-honest words which was coated with a thick sweetness that he couldn't handle. You couldn't see his very own honest side. Minutes passed like hours as you waited in anticipation, wondering if you accidentally messed up or anything.
The next thing you knew, two hands grabbed your arm out of nowhere and your eyes fluttered open in an instant from shock. You couldn't process anything as you felt the hand tightening it's grip on your skin. The following moment went in a blur before a warming sensation contacted your lip. Even though the touch was a bit dry, but you could feel your heart thumping at such a fast speed that leopards cannot compare with. There was no rocket science needed to decipher the current situation, you were being kissed and any idiot would know that. Still, you have never felt yourself being filled up with such intense amount of joy and happiness before in your whole life. It was definitely normal to try your best in returning the affection, even if it was sloppy as hell. Drowning in the sensation, you felt as if you were going to lose yourself and your hands just didn't want to stay by your side properly as they gripped tightly onto his arm too.
To your infortune, he pulled away soon and so did you, despite the need of feeling that rush of adrenaline again. As the two of you stared at each other, trying to catch your breath, he suddenly burst into a fits of laughter, giving you a mini heart attack.
"That's why I said you were honest! (F/N), not being able to say words like that didn't mean you weren't honest. Honesty and courage are two different thing, aren't you getting them mixed up? Seriously, seeing you trying so hard to tell me those with such a red burning face was really amusing."
You tilted your head, a bit embarrassed.
"It's okay not to be able to convey your feelings, but yet you just told me everything, doesn't that already make you honest?"
His words ran through your mind like a cycle as you finally came to the moment of realisation.
"Oh."
Listening to your reply, he couldn't help but laugh harder.
"I can't believe how dense you are."
"It was an honest mistake! Don't make fun of me, I'm trying really hard too!"
You pouted as his sweet laughter is finally starting to cease.
"Sheesh. You're a mean one." You complained.
"If I wasn't, then it wouldn't be me now, would it?"
"I suppose so." You joined in with a giggle. "Still, if I'm going to be honest, then I'll be honest till the end."
"?" He took a glimpsed at your determined face as you let the words rolled off your tongue.
"I love you!"
