For those of you who read Return of the Masters...first of all, sorry for the slow update. I apologize.
Second of all, some of you may or may not be aware of this, but the story I originally wrote isn't exactly the same as it is here and there are several reasons for that. The first obvious one is that it wasn't too great but it could still be tweaked to make sense. The second reason was Ming-Lei.
You guys know that seven year old Ming-Lei is a panther in the story. In the early chapters, it's revealed that her mother left her at the Jade Palace following a bandit attack to keep her safe and to let her grow up normally. However, in my original draft, she was supposed to be a seven year old human who was left at the Jade Palace as a baby.
Sound familiar to anyone?
I changed Ming-Lei for several reasons. Reason one, humans in the kung fu panda universe don't make sense. At least not without a proper backstory, anyway. Reason two, I didn't like the whole 'wait seven years for the story' idea. It seemed way too long. Reason 3, the backstory was just my fourteen year old self trying to cheat backstories. (Like the new one does any better). And reason four, I liked panthers. And panthers made more sense, so I made Ming-Lei a panther instead.
What do you guys think about that?
