I was walking with Sam and Gabby into town to meet Gabby's mum so we could all get a lift back to hers. Nick had decided he wanted to come with us.
"So what actually happens at a girls sleepover?" Nick asked curiously. I was kinda glad he'd asked, you know, considering I had no idea what happened either and was basing my opinion on every high school movie ever made.
"Well wouldn't you like to know?" Gabby smirked and raised her eyebrow.
"Basically, we just sit in a bed together, eat food and watch movies and talk about girl stuff." Sam listed as Gabby nodded along.
"Sounds like every night of my life, just with company." I giggled.
"Honestly I feel honoured to be hosting a sleepover that just so happens to be your first!" Gabby squealed.
Nick reached down and interlocked our fingers before starting to swing our arms back and forth.
"So where are we going now?" I asked, confused because I thought we were supposed to be meeting Gabby's mum.
"Oh well we figured we'd go to Starbucks first and grab a coffee. You know, because it's pumpkin latte season." Sam seemed so excited at the thoughts of one of Starbucks' most iconic coffee beverages embracing her lips. Almost as excited as I was to have a cute coffee shop date and possibly have a Nick embrace my lips.
We walked into Starbucks and ordered our drinks. All three of us girls ordered pumpkin spice lattes but Nick ordered a caffè americano.
"Don't worry, we'll give you two some space." Gabby whispered in my ear, motioning at Nick and I before dragging Sam away to a table in the back corner.
"Shall we grab the window seat?" Nick pointed before grabbing my hand and leading me through the crowded coffee shop.
"Gabby and Sam seem to love you!" Nick had this flash of happiness wash over his eyes. It was exhilarating to see.
"I know, I'm really glad. It's actually so nice to have people I can talk to about stuff. You know, besides my mom." I laughed nervously, worried I was sounding like a loser.
"You deserve it. Also, how would you like to go on a dinner date with me on Saturday night? At the Italian bistro on the hill, we can go for a little evening stroll too if you'd like to?" He sounded so anxious, as if he was expecting me to say no. I must admit it was kind of weird because from where I'd been sat for the last few years, it always seemed like no girl would say no to him.
"That, sounds amazing!" I said, reaching for his hand and squeezing softly.
"Ah, good. I was actually scared you'd say no." He squeezed back.
"How on Earth could I ever say no to you? This last week has been the best. I really don't want this to end."
"I don't want this to end either. I really like you Lena." He shuffled closer to me.
"I really like you too." I whispered as I pressed my lips on his.

Gabby and Sam got up from the other side of the room and joined us in the window booth.
"My mum's in the carpark now." Gabby said as she slumped onto my lap.
"Okay, I guess we're ready to go then!" I said as I tapped Gabby's forehead lightly. I looked at Nick who suddenly looked very out of place. "You okay?"
"What?" He jumped out of whatever daze he was in. "Oh yeah, I'm fine, lets go then!"
Nick walked with us to the car park holding my hand the entire way. The journey itself was about a seven minute walk but every time I looked at Nick and saw his smile reaching his eyes and felt the tiny squeeze from his fingers to mine, time felt slower. At that moment we were invincible. Nothing could tear us down. As Troy and Gabriella would've said in "High School Musical" we were soaring, and we were definitely flying. I just hoped and prayed we didn't get the "When There Was Me And You" part of the film.
When we finally reached Gabby's car on the 15th storey of the car park Nick stopped and let our arms stretch out before pulling me in closely. He placed his hands gently and delicately on my hips and pulled my body towards his as he placed a goodbye kiss on my lips and nuzzling into my neck.
"Have fun tonight, you deserve it. I love you." He whispered in my ear and those last four words made my heart clench before beating at a faster rate. He'd said it. I knew I felt it but was afraid to say it because we've known each other a week. Now he'd said it a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I felt content with the world. Content isn't necessarily the best word to describe this, it's not strong enough, but everything in my life was finally starting to fall into place and Nick had my heart.
"I love you too." I said into his eyes before grabbing onto his neck to hoist myself up and kissing him softly. I returned to normal height and held onto his fingers until the distance broke us apart before climbing into the backseat of Gabby's car.
A/N: sorry for the long wait for an update, I've had really bad writers block and I had all my exams and then it was Christmas and I just couldn't find the time to write but when I did, I didn't know what to write, sometimes it's difficult to know where you want to take a story but I'm actually happy with how this chapter ended. Also the ship name for the two characters is "Nena" as decided by Delyth who reads and supports this story so so much and I love her a great deal! Also I know she'll freak out over the first "I love you's" in this chapter! Hopefully it won't be long until another chapter is up, do you want to know about the sleepover or do you want to skip ahead to Nena's dinner date?x
