Unexpected

The party went on pretty well and now here we are, me and my girls clearing away the gifts I got. They didn't bother to go back. So it's a sleep over even though we actually don't sleep. I still can't get it, how did I forget My own birthday? At least I was surprised, no lie.

I got a whole lot of things, necklaces, rings, makeup, ornaments and more.

"Aren't you going to check what we got for you?" asked Amy who really wanted to know my response for their gifts.

"I'm saving it up for later, we still got some more to clear." I said. They are really good at keeping secrets from me. I didn't even get a clue about this plot twist.

I had to send texts to everyone and thank them for the lovely gift and blah blah blah. I'm not bothering to send them different ones individually, just copy paste the same thing to everyone. And I sent the same message to Amy, Demi and Skye too, just for fun.

Their phones chimed and they checked to find out that it was only my message.

"Nice Meli, really nice." Skye came out to be serious but ended up winking sarcastically.

"Are you done? Can you see our ones now?" asked Demi impatiently.

"OK ok! Patience bunny." I chuckled to see them so exited. I know right? Who doesn't like the reaction of people when opening their gifts?

"You know what? Why don't you unpack them for me, for more surprise?" I asked for which they agreed immediately.

They reached for the packages they got for me. They were neatly packed in my favorite color, which is purple. I closed my eyes for them to unwrap the gifts. The noises of the crunching paper flowed through my ears as I tried sneaking to see what they got for me.

"ok Meli, open your eyes." I heard one of the girls call out. I slowly opened them and my eyes drifted towards Amy.

I saw a wooden box, with a cute "M" carved on it.

Aw. It's so sweet. My heart beat fast when I saw a light purple glow peeping in side from it. She revealed the rest making the purple glow visible even brighter.

I saw a heart shaped vintage glow necklace before my eyes.

Then my eyes caught the attention of something fluffy Skye was holding.

"It's all about you honey." She smiled and passed it to me. Words in "M" were written all over it.

Who could've thought? An "All about you" pillow!

Then finally, I turned towards Demi.

"Smile !" she said and flashed. In her hands was that Polaroid camera I dreamed of having.

"Oh my gosh guys! This is beyond amazing!" I squealed up and down the bed and tumbled over to give each of them an extra extra tight hug.

Knock Knock.

We heard someone knocking on my bed room door.

"Come in" I answered

It was Zoey, my sister who was warmly welcomed by a little wuff from Marley.

"Melissa, I found this in one of the kitchen drawers. Someone got this for you." She held me a boxed wrapped and tied up with a ribbon.

My eyes went huge when I recognized the gift. It's the gift Ben gave me which I left in the kitchen. How can be so careless?

"Who gave it?" Amy questioned taking the box from my hands.

"He... he gave it." My mouth refused to mention his name for some reason.
