"(ყ/ɳ)!" You heard someone calling out for you.
You halted on your track and turned to face the owner of the voice. You could see Princess Nandriel brisk walking towards you. Her red hair left unbraided and she wore riding clothes. Despite the things she wore, not matter how ridiculous or hideous it is, she still look beautiful as the moon itself. One of the traits of a perfect candidate to be the future Queen of Greenwood the Great. She was also happens to be your best friend.
"Long time no see (Y/N)." She breathes out. What are those papers?" She then pointed her index finger towards the papers you have been carrying around.
"Ah, Nandriel. It is good to see you again. I was on my way to the throne room, the King demanded of my presence. You know how cranky he could be he is in one of his moods." You joked a bit.
Nandriel just stared at you as if she could not comprehend what you had just said to her. Her long gaze that felt like scanning your very being made you really uncomfortable, give you a few moments you surely had squirmed around. Is there something wrong with your attire? Yes, you were wearing a tunic along with a leather trousers (not really a proper attire as the King's advisor) but the King have no problem with it so why would anyone?
"This position suit you ill (Y/N). " She flashed you a sad smile.
"It's getting lonely without you in the troop. I usually met you when you out to patrol the wood, but now not anymore."
You bit your lower lip to suppress your desire to snap at her. You took a deep breath to calm yourself before you shifted the papers and held it in one hand. You use your free hand to caress her cheek.
"We talked about this Nandriel...no more." The incident that fell onto you a few moons ago had changed your life. It happened long ago yet it still fresh in your mind. Any reminder of your old life left you with the sinking feeling.
You had to take the position as the King's advisor for the change. In your condition, life as a warrior is no longer suitable for you. Even though it broke your heart to accept this, but you knew it was for the best. You need to feed yourself and louging around the house self-pitying is not exactly a job. So why not seize the one that had been given to you?
"Looks like the Princess from far away love you too much (Y/N)." A deep strong voice sounded from behind. Without turning you said,
"Are you jealous My Prince?" Your prince he may be, but he was your best friend nonetheless.
Thranduil just laughed and walked away.
"I am." His blonde silvery mane swaying gently behind him.
"Oh...really?" you teased. But then you realised what he just said.
"Eh...eh! Really?!"
"No, I'm kidding. Come, my father is waiting for you." You grumbled but ran after him. You waved towards Nandriel.
"See you soon Nandriel."
Thranduil gave her a nod as acknowledgment of her. That arrogant arse.

The meeting was longer than what you expected it to be. The debate regarding the alliance with the race of between the King and the councillors turned from bad to absolute worse in a matter of second. And you as one of the King's advisors had to scream at them to defend the King's words. Not to be biased but most of the orders and words that came from the King does have the points. We could not force the men to force an alliance with the elves without any benefits and advantages for them.
