Hello!
Chapter five! I hope you like it! I really enjoyed writing this part.
It’s a bit short, but I liked the mischievous feel of it. I’ll shut up before I reveal anything else. :)
Tell me what you think of it! And what do you think of the characters?
Like ‘em? Hate ‘em? Let me know, I’d love to hear what your opinions are!

PS. The song is called 'The A Team.' It's originally by Ed Sheeran, but the video I've included is a cover by Birdy. She's such an amazing singer! And the way she sings it so emotionally - oh gosh, it's brilliant.
I think it really relates to both Scarlett and Xander, and I was going to put it in a later chapter, where you'd probably understand the connection more, but I couldn't help myself! But when that chapter comes around, I'll put a link to it again. :)
Chapter Five
Roslyn:
“Listen kid, you’re getting on my last nerves,” Dominic growled at Dexter. “Could you just shut the f-?”
“Dominic!” I hissed. “Watch your mouth!”
He sighed and ran his fingers agitatedly through his hair. “I’m sorry – it’s his fault! He provokes me!”
“You’re the adult,” I glared. “Act like one.”
Dexter and Dominic had been bickering ever since we sat down to ‘get the whole thing sorted out.’ So far, we’d only discussed how grateful the ‘whiny little bastard’ should’ve been, and how annoying the ‘crabby old man’ was.
“Yeah, Dom,” Dexter smirked. “Listen to your lady.”
“And you!” I turned on my heel to stare him down. “Dexter, I don’t get why you’re being so hostile.”
“You guys are strangers!” He spat. “How am I to know that you’re not going to turn on us?!”
“Hey,” Dom barked. “I don’t care if you’re a dick to me, but she deserves every bit of gratitude your adolescent ass can muster. Think again before you decide to accuse someone who has done nothing but help you and your little friends ever since you walked into that damned warehouse – and if you decide that you do have the audacity to be so disrespectful? Well then you can get the fuck out.”
Everyone’s eyes widened at Dom’s outburst, and I had to press my hand to his chest to reassure myself that he wouldn’t actually hurt the boy.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dominic that angry. “Didn’t I just say something about watching your mouth,” I hesitantly chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
His expression softened. “Sorry,” he grunted, nodding to Dexter. “That was uncalled for.”
Dexter shrugged. “I was out of line,” he said back. “Sorry, Roslyn.”
“Dexter,” I frowned.
“He’ll call you ‘Rose’ if you call him ‘Dex,’” Harper smiled, being the first of all of them to speak.
“Dex,” I raised an eyebrow, testing it out.
He smirked again, but not fully. “Rose.”
“There it is!” I smiled. I looked to Dominic, whose gaze seemed to burn through me. “What?” He rolled his eyes at me.
