Eek! Sorry for the lateness!
If you’ve read my other stories, you’ve probably also heard my predicament. With school and everything else, I’ve been crazy busy lately. But anyways, I’ll keep writing in any free time I’ve got!
These chapters are going to start moving along from here on out, especially with Scarlett and Xander. You’ll see why :)
Enjoy! Comment, please!

Chapter Nine
Roslyn:
“You know, Rosie,” Dominic murmured to me, while we waited on Dexter. “I still want you to leave. It’d be the safest option.”
It’d been a few days since he’d brought it up first. Since then, Jinx had helped all of the kids bring their powers into control, except Dexter. Lyra tried out her new clothes, which, sure enough, disappeared with her whenever she’d pleased, and Harper’s force fields had become stronger.
Owen learned how to control temperature, and sure enough, Jinx was right. He could heat things now, and Dom was convinced that no matter what happened, he was going to keep Owen to cool his beer bottles and heat his coffee.
Now, we were testing Dexter’s dexterity. Yeah, I know. Dexter’s dexterity. It was Dom that came up with the genius phrase, and it was he who used it over and over again, much to Dexter’s demise.
I didn’t even bother looking at him because I was done with the conversation already. “Dom, if I leave, you’re coming with me.”
“Rose, that’d defeat the whole purpose of you escaping,” he groaned and through his head back in exasperation. It was no use; no amount of moaning and groaning was going to sway me. “I’ve been knee deep in this shit ever since I can remember, Roslyn. It wasn’t fair of me to drag you into it, but I did anyways. If I go with you, then they’ll definitely find one way or another to find me – find us.”
“Shut up, you idiot,” Jinx hissed. “First of all, you don’t even know what you’re talking about. And secondly, I’m trying to work here.”
“I’m with him,” Dexter nodded earnestly. “You need to shut your trap. Not you, Rose. You’re alright.”
“I’ll kill him -,”
“Thanks, Dex,” I smiled, pressing my hand to Dom’s chest, initially shutting him up.
Dexter smiled quickly and winked at Dominic before Jinx signaled, “Now!” and he went running on the treadmill.
Dexter was hooked up to all sorts of machines, monitoring his heart and what not, and was to run a mile as fast as he could. The room was glass and sound proof, so when we exited it, we were safe to talk freely.
“Since we’ve got a little time on our hands, I think we should discuss what you were arguing -,”
“Not arguing,” I cut Jinx off sharply.
Jinx looked at me for a beat before continuing. “As I was saying, I think we should discuss what you two were not arguing about,” he gave me a pointed look. “Dom, you’re stupid.”
“I swear, if one more person calls me stupid, I’ll go ballistic,” Dominic growled.
“Shut up,” Jinx and I said at the same time.
“Jinx,” he gave me a smirk before turning to an irritated Dom. “You’re stupid because you think that they won’t be able to find her or the rest of the kids.”
